Spark Plug Hole Thread Repair Tip

Suggested by Dr. Hess

I was told this tip by my friends 25+ years ago at the Harley shop. Thanks, Gypsy (RIP) and Gary for sharing.

When repairing spark plug hole threads, turn the motor over until the piston is at the bottom of the block just at the start of the compression stroke. Fill the cylinder with shaving cream. You can put a tube on the end of the can. Then do your thread repair and crank the motor. All ths metal shavings and the shaving cream will blow out the spark plug hole.

Can I shave the head at the same time? Great tip, Dr. Hess Cheers Ron
