View all Keith's Mazda Miata rally special

Built from a bare shell for the Targa Newfoundland rally. The engine is bored and stroked and runs 11.5:1 compression. The suspension was built for as much travel as possible and the car was stripped for light weight. It’s now 2100 lbs wet with a full cage and hardtop. The paint is a Martini design. The whole car was built in my garage. You can see the whole build on the car’s website.
The Miata has a long and successful competition history. It’s responsible for the rebirth of the sports car. It’s been around for 19 years now. Is it a classic?

Classic or not… That in deed is a fascinating question. 19 years already is even more frightening to me. I'm leaning towards not a classic. YET… But that is only because the line is still in production today. Still wonderful job, I've been following the project closely. Jealous as I don't think I'll even afford a Targa experience. A.

Absolutely a classic! Hope they keep building them for another 20 years. Great car, Keith!

Maybe it classifies since there were no 98 models produced? Nice job. Now let's see it race! :D
