Carb Refurbishing
Mar 24, 2011 update on vangoughv's 1970 Triumph GT6+ (Brutus)
I decided to tackle the carbs today. It took a few hours of tedium to completly dissassemble, clean, inspect and reassemble them. Underneath 41 years of rust, corrosion, oil, dirt and carbon I found some pretty decent carbs. The spindles are tight, the PO had replaced the seals and gaskets and these carbs happen to be the CDSE’s that you can adjust through the dashpots which is perfect. Heres a B4 and after comparision of the two carbs with the one on the left being completed. The one on the right has had a solvent soaking and brushing otherwise it would lock a little worse.
