1968 Ford Fairlane 500
Started on May 7 by Nitroracer
I bought this car back in the summer of 2007 after going to a local car show and developing a need for old metal again. I had owned a 71’ Chevelle Malibu sedan but the body needed some rust repair and I don’t have the skills or resources for that, mechanicals are what I am good with. I found this 68’ Fairlane in running and driving condition for $900, with no rust whatsoever. The previous owner bought it in washington and drove it cross country back to pennsylvania instead of buying a plane ticket home. It isn’t a complete base model car, with a 2bbl 289, and a C4 trans but it did have manual drum brakes and a horrible 2.79 open rear. My goal for the car is a powerful, but very driveable vehicle. Somewhere between cruiser, low rider, rat rod, and drag car. It’ll do all of them but excel at none.See more:
