I bought this car back in the summer of 2007 after going to a local car show and developing a need for old metal again. I had owned a 71’ Chevelle Malibu sedan but the body needed some rust repair and I don’t have the skills or resources for that, mechanicals are what I am good with. I found this 68’ Fairlane in running and driving condition for $900, with no rust whatsoever. The previous owner bought it in washington and drove it cross country back to pennsylvania instead of buying a plane ticket home. It isn’t a complete base model car, with a 2bbl 289, and a C4 trans but it did have manual drum brakes and a horrible 2.79 open rear. My goal for the car is a powerful, but very driveable vehicle. Somewhere between cruiser, low rider, rat rod, and drag car. It’ll do all of them but excel at none. You must be registered and signed in to comment.
