Yes. Retired the old unit last year. Bought the new one in Sept 2009 and used it 2 or 3 times that winter.

This year it will get more work.

New VS old. Actually sold it back to the original owner for what I bought it for. Win Win!

While I was replacing the clutch in our 20 year old snowblower, my wife hired the neighbor kid to do our driveway. He uses his father's blower. I haven't told my wife that ours is fixed!

Every Northeast city is already above its normal yearly snow fall total. And it's still January... with more snow in the forecast for next week.

And to think, I debated on not getting snow tires for the daily driver this year (fortunately, I did).

    Joy.

3 F here this morning. My morning commute is about 50 miles. Today, the TDI never fully warmed up, despite leaving it plugged in all night.

Sometimes the neighbour takes pity on me and brings his snowblower over to blow the driveway out for me. Usually, he's over when the snow accumulates to a foot or more.

I have similar scenario with boats. I owned several over a period of years & my last was a 45' Convertible Sportfisherman. I loved my boats but they seemed to consume most of my off time and all my spare cash.

When I retired I sold out. I still miss owning my own boat but have many friends who have boats. I discovered it's better to have friends with boats than have friends on my boat.

I grew up in Rochester New York, where they get a LOT of snow every year.

After I left the Marine Corps, I lived in Detroit for a while. While I loved driving my Subaru with snow tires, I still hated shoveling and clearing snow from the car.

    I prefer Florida.

Usually I hate snow too but right now it's my friend. I'm stuck in sunny Orlando for at least 2 more days after a series of flight cancelations back to NY. We've been down here for 10 days now, the main reason was to be a corner worker for the Rolex 24. I was "working" turn 3, the 180 degree at the end of the infield. Managed to get some time in the Keys before the race, life is good.

I have some great close up pics, will post them when I get home.

Then Tim recalled one of the main reason he moved to Florida...

This isn't up near André. It's just south of Boston, on the RI border. We had several good sized storms, with no melting in between. And today, an ice storm, just for variety. Needless to say, the Tiger, just visible behind the snow blower, isn't going anywhere soon.

We've been getting snow all day.

I'm waiting for the plow to go by and bury my lane way.

Excuse the lack of photos. I'm working to reduce the draw on the server...

From Stu's picture I'd say there is more snow on the ground in Boston than we have in Ottawa this year. We can't really complain so far...although we'll never admit to that... (

Looks like Boston might have more snow than we have in Anchorage, too.

The snow has been melting here. Still have 3 foot piles next to the driveway, tho... and 10+ ft piles in misc parking lots.

I did start un-burying the Spit and Volvo over the w/e in hopes of getting a few projects done before the driving season starts.
