Do you dim your high beams to on-coming traffic while driving at night on rural interstates - the ones with the wide grassy medians between opposing traffic lanes? Do you flick your high beams at drivers in on-coming traffic who don't dim their lights to you? If so, is it because their lights create a glare for you , because they're 'supposed to', or because they are 'disrespecting you' by not, or (?)? Just wondering what the accepted practice is on interstates...

It depends on how wide the median is, but I often leave mine on bright unless there is a curve that puts my lights directly in the face of the oncoming drivers, or unless an oncoming driver flashes their high beams. I don't find "normal" highbeams too bad with a wide median, but some of the newer lights can be blinding. I still drive with old-fashioned sealed beams. I have to confess that I have no idea what the law is.

I dim my high beams for oncoming traffic, although if the center median is wider I sometimes will not.

My daily driver has HID lights, and my Zs have H4 replacement lights, so I try to be conscious of that fact...

I try hard to be aware of other drivers, and almost always dip my lights to avoid blinding oncoming traffic whether there's a median or not.

It's probably worth mentioning that properly aimed lights make a huge difference both for you and the oncoming traffic. I find that I have to adjust my Miata's lights regularly but my Benz stays dead on.

I tried drag racing, but kept blowing the apex for turn 2...

Let me guess. You have a NA. Just one of the reasons I've never liked flip up headlights on any car. My X-19, and several other flip up light cars such as Corvettes share this problem. This a big reason why I didn't buy my first Miata till the NB came out.
