Since I know there are some pack rats here...

I'm working on a project that calls for several small USB thumb drives... I'm talking in the range of 128-512mb.

You would think these things would be available online someplace for dirt money, but even the jamokes on eBay think they are worth what they sold for new, (i.e. $8, when $8 can buy you a 4GB drive now.)

If you have a bunch, I'll pay shipping plus a few bucks for your trouble.

Or if you have a link for someplace offering them for reasonable money, please let me know.

    Thanks.

I think I still have a bin of those at home. If so, they are yours for shipping. I will check tonight.

Prototyping a hybrid USB 3.0 RAID0/5 controller. If my maths work out, I will be able to create a terabyte USB backup drive with speeds that approach SSD for 1/4 of the price of a terabyte SSD.

If you still need some I may be able to come up with a couple, I will check at home tonight.

You have my attention too, keep us posted.

As a DIYer, my view is fear nothing and try anything.

Sure, I'll take whatever anybody wants to contribute to the cause. I may wind up blowing up a bunch, which is why I'm not starting out with high-dollar USB 3.0 drives :)

I found a few, all pretty small (32mb, 64mb and two128mb). I will drop in a padded envelope and drop in the mail if you want them PM me a shipping address.

These things are pretty valuable, I will have to ask for a dirty joke and a cookie recipe as payment.

PM sent, although the joke was not very dirty.

Already he is welching on the deal!

Ya can't trust anybody these days.

I don't have any to sell but... I have a USB 2.0 Kingston SD card converter and you can find small or microSD cards in every piece of E36 M3 old phone, blackberry, camera and so on.

Might be an option if you can't find enough of the other.

Right, but I'd need 10 such adapters, plus cards, to make it useful. thanks, though!
