    May I say "Oh my"?

I can't see how it isnt.

Questionable exhaust routing aside, holy E30 M3. looks pretty nice.

When you wrote "dumping through the interior" I thought you meant something like I saw once at Pick-a-Part... it was pretty nasty.

Could have a tunnel built around it.

I can't imagine having those kind of build skills and doing something THAT stupid.

No same car the lower one is just further along in the build. The purple haze reflection of the paint is likely from light angle.

Where the hell is is going, since there's a passenger seat?

Is there still a passenger seat in the later pic??

Yeah, the harness is still clearly there, and you can just make out the headrest.

Watching videos of sportscar racing does not fully convey the experience. It's more like playing a three-way game of Speed-Chess while strapped to a chair... inside a giant beehive.

Pardon my stupid, but what IS that? And I don't think that engine started out in there.

    Check out the rear window/trunk.

Looks like a real M3 was hacked up in the process.

S38? An M5 and M3 donated to make it?

  • Aug. 19, 2010 9:33 p.m. Knurled Reader

All that hackery and they couldn't notch the floorpan so the exhaust could run straight?

I looked and I looked and I couldn't find the image of the "back seat" of the Dahlback Golf. (You know, THAT one) Behinds the two front seats is a 90 degree bend, a 180 degree bend, and a HUGE muffler, all done in 4" pipe.

i think i like the exhaust dump. the muffler is where the stock fuel tank was and that whole space is just wasted anyhow now. and its all outside the interior.

and no, that's an M30 big six, not s38.

i'd like to see the process of fitting an M3 rear windshield section to a standard e30.

The underbody shot makes me think an E30 suspension should be able to be fitted to an XR4Ti.

No it isn't at all. The XR4Ti suspension is heavier with less adjustment, and the E30 front is much better than the XR.
