For myself, I'm getting married in March
Tungsten/Carbon fiber, $40
Tungsten/Blue CF, $57
Silver tire, $140
Unfortunatly, SWMBO has nixed the tire idea as my wedding ring, and I'm not sure what she will think of the CF ones. More conventional ideas below.
Titanium/Gold plate, $40
Tungsten/celtic knot $60
All but the tire are from overstock
This is my exact wedding band. We've been married for about 2 and a half years now. I love my band, but it's HEAVY. When I face palm (which I do a good deal), I hit my head with it pretty hard. The carbon fiber also scratches pretty easily.
I do want a full carbon fiber ring. This place has some cool ones.
i like the carbon fiber one. My girlfriend says she would get that for me if i get her some crazy platinum 1ct princess cut diamond ring and expects it by New Years. Where the hell do i come up with $3,000 in 4 days? Aint gonna happen....

I'd say for that size and cut, you're getting off easy for $3,000. Just sayin'.

I cut my own out of a 1/4" piece of aluminum. On a drill press.

mine is plain Ti.
It is scratched and beat up. However, I really enjoy the fact that the ring is very light. The tungsten rings are about 5x the weight of this one.

I have a few....plain gold, as well as that cf one at the top of the thead. The tungsten stays super shiny, but the cf epoxy is getting a little scratched up. Whatever you get, make sure it is comfort fit inner surface.....
The gear ring is cool....but more noticeable on the finger...we have one of those here at the office for product review.

I had a plain tungsten carbide band. Looks like the day it was bought still and I wasn't kind to it.

Is that the one where the inside surface is rounded? On my guppy shaped finger those tend to stand away from the surface and look odd.

I was told that the tungsten carbide rings cannot be cut from your hand should you have an accident, like most of the other rings mentioned here. Since my career involves working in factories and I enjoy working on stuff as a hobby, I didn't purchase one.
They probably have the capability now. Also the tungsten rings cannot be resized if you bloat in your later years...

This is correct. Since I tend to work on stuff a lot I also passed on the Tungsten. The Titanium rings were intriguing, but scratch really easily. I actually ended up with a white gold piece. It's light and sturdy. I do still long for the tire ring.

I have the very first CF/tungsten one pictured. One thing I do have to ask, why does SWMBO get a say in it? She's not wearing it, and as long as it marks her territory, why does she care what it looks like? Not to mention, I get FAR more comments on mine than a traditional band would- and that generally makes mrs. mndsm happy, because then she gets to be like "Yeah, he got that one, I wanted him to be him" or whatever women say to rub it in other womens faces. I'd probably know what the real phrase was, but I've usually been distracted by a shiny object at that point.

My tungsten band is over 5 years old and still looks the same as it did the day I bought it. It is impervious to the wear of daily use as a millwright. Yes it is a bit heavy but unless you are suffering from consumption it isn't going to slow you down. After a few days you won't notice the weight any more.
My last band was titanium and it looked like crap within a few months.

The wife and I both went with tungsten carbide. No, you can't cut it off, but you can crack it off with a pair of vice grips. Not only is it incredibly durable, but (and don't tell the missus this) it's also very budget friendly.
I was originally looking at Ti, but passed on it because when I tried on a Ti ring, it just felt WAY too light, almost like plastic. I had looked at carbon fiber, too, but as cool as I think that is now, I'm not so sure I will in 10 or 20 years.

I lost my first doing a triathlon this summer. It's somewhere in the Atlantic. I bought a replacement, but it wasn't quite the same. Since then, I figure it's more about what's in our hearts than the specific ring on my finger. Granted, I was majorly bummed when I lost that first one.
