    Mike Lawton (Registrar) lawtonmk@gmail.com

    Website is here:

For pictures of last years event, go here:

This is a non-spectator event, but you may be able to get in if you contact the guys on the VRG website and agree to help work (you can't set this up at the gate...must be done ahead of time)

I'd love one more shot at the Glen this year but my new axles aren't here yet. Do you have snow tires? The weather looks a little iffy.

No snow tires, but you're right; it looks bad.

Horseheads may get 1" to 2" tomorrow. I'm in NJ and it's snowing here right now. Leaving in about 2 hours. Ugh.

A lot of the VARAC folks are putting a nail in the season. Snow on a 700KM road trip.

    Too bad.

I guess the final SCCA event at NJ Motorsports Park will be "interesting" as well.

I'd rather have snow than the nasty sideways rain we're going to have at NJMP.

<a href="CRC '57 Rain">Did someone say nasty sideways rain? That's our spring and fall here in the Northwest. I really love the way my Hoosier Vintage TD bias-ply tires cut right through the 2" standing water.........................ya right. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IEuEvVn1PI Dougie

Today's VRG at the Glen races have been canceled.

We will all meet later (around 4 PM EST) to see what the weather holds for tomorrow. Doesn't look good right now.

Since we had time, we went to The Glen Motor Racing Research Center. I got chatting with the Center's Director of Marking (Jon McKnight) and it turns out he's a great friend of my boss (who is NOT a car guy) Small world!

2nd day decent racing. Not great (rainy and cold) but tolerable.

3rd day cancelled due to bad weather predicted (and most racers had left anyway....most guys seemed too cold and tired from the low temps and rain I guess).

As it turned out the last day would probably have been OK to race but there was only a handful of folks around. My car was running poorly (would not go past 4500 rpm....I'm suspecting fuel pump) so I didn't mind getting home early.

    Oh well......Next year!

    Brrr

We did a 250 mile bomb round around the Gatineau's today. Cold, but clear weather.

That's about it for the GT6, but the FIAT will go into full prep mode as I finish off all my projects so I can be ready for 2010.

You'll need to log in to post.
