Just a suggestion that I think CMS should do a new vintage tire test with the current SVRA legal tires on a 14" wheel. It's been a few years and the last test was done on a car with 13" wheels (Fiat).

These tires are probably the most common tires in these sizes that are SVRA legal.

Hey that's a great idea, but test these true vintage style tires on the newly restored GT6:

    5.50 x 15 Goodyear Bluestreak G12

    5.50 X 15 Hoosier Vintage TD's

    550 - 15 Dunlop R5

Last time I looked they didn't race on radials back in the day.

True, but I'm more interested to see the performance of the SVRA legal tires, as they are the rules most vintage groups abide by on the east coast and upper midwest. There are a lot of things legal now that weren't back then, and usually for good reason. Those bias plies are all $200+ per tire and don't last anymore than 1-2 weekends!!

I'd really like to see how the Hoosier Speedster compares to the rest, as I believe they're the slowest, leaving the 15" crowd at a significant disadvantage against the 14" wheel cars in SVRA competition.
