Since things are a little quiet, I figured I would add some photos of my 1964 Autodynamics Formula Vee. I picked it up in October 2007, rebuilt it over the winter, including the paint, and had it on track by March. I run with a smallish NorCal race club, and made about half a dozen events over the summer, with minimal fuss and muss. Not quite the poke of my Subaru STi, but then again, I don't burn through Hoosiers, pads, fuel, and wheel bearings every race weekend either!

Let's see some more vintage race photos!

    Hello Chris,

Nice pic.s, what track are you racing at Buttonwillow, Thunderhill ? I race with SOVREN in the NW, Portland, Seattle, B.C. I'd like to make it to a Cali event at next year. Maybe the Wine Country Classic, that will be easiest pitch to my wife.

We usually have a large group of V's in our grid, a lot of good drivers, but they're really hard to see at times. The split starts seem to help a lot.

Great shots! I scratch built a FV in the early 70s, but only ran in autocross events. Formula cars can be tough to see. ~HERE's~ Chris S. in his FF at NH Speedway. He just passed the silver Midget on driver's right and now he's about to pass me on my left. These open wheel cars just zip in and out!

We try not to mix open wheel and closed wheel together, but this shot was taken at the end of the day, when we let everyone out (if there's extra track time that we haven't used....we call it an All-Comers session). We only have two or three FVs "regulars" in ~VRG~. But our Club Ford (FF) classes have a good turnout.

    Enjoy Every Sandwich ~ W.Z.

    Nial,

I wish we would put all open wheelers together. I am really surprised that we don't have more problems between the two. I've spent some races' checking "mirrors" more then looking forward.<a href="Defrost Grid # 1">
