Any CMS readers heading to Limerock for the Fall Vintage Festival Labor Day Weekend? Tim and Gary, will CMS be there with the GT6 again?
I'm in Group 6 with the red Spitfire #7. If you're in B paddock, stop by and say hi.

Mike, I'll be racing in SOVREN's CRC http://www.sovren.org/ at PIR with Team Healey PDX over the Labor Day Weekend. The last 2 years we've had rain, things might be warm and clear this year too early to tell for sure though. Good luck at Limerock.
I'll be there but probably with friends (in a Toyota Landcruiser or street my MGB).We should be hanging with some of the Lotus guys. At least two of my pals are racing: Mack M. will be there (#109 white Mini) and Mike O. (in his white Elva). I'll look for you and your Spitfire. Dougie-Good luck at the SOVERN event!
Best of luck gentlemen!
Vince, Dougie, and Andre, a challenge. Join me at Limerock for the Fall Festival next year.
I'll buy the first round My motorhome, B Paddock, Thursday night before the event.

In reply to OFracing: That would be sweet if we can pull it off... Thanks Mike for the challenge!
Mike that would be cool.
We shall see what 2011 holds for me.
I need to start working towards Mont Tremblant, but have not had the time this week.
Hate to bring this up, but, is anyone backing out due to the approaching hurricane possibilities? I can only go one day, so I'm thinking of going Monday. Weather SHOULD be good then...I went to Lime Rock's entry list, and there's quite a number of really interesting cars registered to show up. I went last year and had the best time at a racing event I've ever had. Nice friendly people, owners, track workers, lots of smiles. Very nice. Hope for the same this year. Tropical Storm watch just went up for CT. I wonder, again, who's going to blow this off and go to Watkins Glen next weekend instead. --Bob
Mike - I'm alway up for a challenge. How about meeting me halfway. If I don't make the Monterey Historics next year I have my eye on Road America, http://www.vscda.org/races/elkhartLake.php . Elkhart Lake in the fall sounds pretty cool and I could check it off my bucket list.

Great weather and a very nice event! As usual, there were some amazing cars there. I went up with six friends and we ran into another six of seven pals (who brought some good beer
). We werr mostly up on the hill. Saw the red Spit, but never really got a chance to say hello.
Here's ~a link~ to some snaps from the event yesterday.

WOW!
Great photos.
Success at SOVREN's Columbia River Classic. Five races three 1st, one 2nd, and one 4th. After weeks of long hours and late nights to get my big Healey in full race shape the weekend was wonderful. I didn't have to turn a wrench on it at all and she performed better then every with the suspension adjustments I made.
The weather was a perfect 65-70 degrees, no rain and everyone had a great safe time. I had one of the best races of my life when I had to duel a Ferrari 250GT for the top podium spot. He got the hole shot at the green and it took me 3 laps to reel him in when his brakes started to fade. More pictures to come, here's the Team Healey PDX pits.

Congrats on the win.....you ran away from everyone in that second video!
Great shots & video. Congrats on the win, looks like it was a great weekend!
I got there late on Thursday, had to pull the new motor and fix a major oil leak. The paddocked several of us in general parking for the weekend. I was behind a giant toter home from Fl, near the Brit car corral. The car was down on power all weekend, couldn't pull more than 6K (normally 7.5-7.8K) down the front straight. The plus side, sorry Andre, it put in mid pack with the Fiats and Alfas so I had lots of folks to play with. We had some great racing, I had wider tires and could corner much faster but they had stronger engines and would pull away on the straights. There were four of us who kept passing and repassing each other all weekend.
I started spewing water and oil on the 3rd lap of the last race on Monday and pulled off the track. The engine rebuild was driven by a warped head and I think it either warped again or cracked, pretty sudden loss of power. I'll pull it this weekend and see what work the winter holds for me.
mike
That's tough about the engine, I hope you can work it out without too much trouble!
Don't think I'll need to Magnaflux this to find the problem.
Luckily, the rest of the engine looks good. Prep the new head and fire it up.
mike
Looks like an easy fix for you Mike. I was so lucky after putting everything back together on my big Healey after a complete repaint, (including full engine/trans removal). It ran better than every and I lowered my track time by 1.5 seconds during SOVREN's CRC at my home track PIR. All I had to do was put gas in, check tire pressure and fluid levels all weekend...........I'm sure that will never happen again.
Dougie
No oils leaks? Are you sure it had some in it?
The car is lookng very good. If you're knocking off a second and a half now, wait until it breaks in
mike
Ha.........Funny you should mention oil leaks. That was the last thing on my list of fixes before the race weekend. I had one (that I could find) on the engine and one on the transmission that were both identified when I had the car on the dyno a few days before the race. The fix was a couple 50 cent copper flat washers and 4 hours on my back in the garage to r & r them. Your right though, usually if it's not leaking a little it's because it's dry.
