I was encouraged by the idea of a series of 40-45 minute enduros for under 3 litre cars to actually go ahead and finish my Abarth Berlina Corsa rebuild.
I have raced the car in many places and venues, but never on the East Coast of the USA.
I have owned this car since the mid 80s and competed with it in Historic Rallies, Historic Pub Crawls, and Historic races. I bought the car in Melbourne Victoria (hence it is RHD, which actually works out well) and competed there in events such as the REPCO Mountain Rally. Once I moved back to the USA I did few "Historic Rallies" here but they were not competitive events and therefore not to my taste. The next venue for the car was VARA on the West Coast, where I had the privelege of winning the G-Production class championship. In 2001 the car was shipped to Europe for the Abarth AG Coppa Mille series where I did reasonably well. The real kick was racing at venues that I had only dreamed about. Nurburgring, Hockenheim, Spa, Zolder, Zandvoort, Ternois, and then throw in some hillclimbs. It was like I had gone to heaven. I went back again in 2004 for another year of the Coppa Mille.
It has been sitting for 5 years now, while I built up my business.
