Yes I did and its not a Triumph.
I am sorry to my British brother's in arms, but I could not pass up on this.
Will pick it up in June.

Andre: Very nice. I don't race mine but have enjoyed it. Are you planning to do vintage? The Fiat club in Ottawa will be very helpful as will Andrew. I am still planning to do Mosport in June.
Cheers Ron
Congrats, Andre... That is a sweet ride indeed. I don't think the fact that it's not British should bring much grief to bear. I love my LBC's, but I also have a 1980 Fiat Spider ( my third in twenty years ). I'm with Ron, as I've never raced mine but they are a ball to drive on the street. Enjoy! Cheers, Scott
I will be the 3rd 124 in VARAC that I know of.
So why would you not race one?
A.
Andre:
If I raced, it would surely be in a Fiat. To be different, I would choose a something like an Abarthized 850 coupe or the Racer.
I believe that the 124 Spiders have only recently been accepted for VARAC. Andrew had to prove that his Sedan was marketed in 1965 and all were sold as 1966 or later. But, I have a buddy here with one that has 1965 build date and is the oldest 124 Sedan in the country. A picture of the VIN plate was all he needed.
Cheers Ron
Congrats Andre, you're going to have a blast. Going to do the Fall Vintage event at Watkins Glen once you get things sorted out? There's one Labor day weekend every year at Lime Rock too. It's being run by a new management group this year, should bring out some different cars. Always a fun event with a great crowd.
mike
Thanks Mike...
I'm very excited, but will ease my way into this.
The costs for 2010 will be high so I'll make 1 event.
More events as the years go on.
A.
Nice!
Of all the modern roadsters, the 124 Spider is the prettiest in my opinion.
Have fun with it and if you change your mind about running an extra event, our club wil run ~A Vintage Event at Watkins Glen~ later on in '09. (Oct 16-19).
My brother had one for a while........he's come back from the dark side and has an MG Midget now
Bonus: soon, you may be able to buy spare parts at your local Chrysler dealer.
I can hear the high RPM shriek of that twincam now on the back straight...
On another note, I may be picking up a 1974 X1/9 today. Can you say smog excempt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wont be able to get my license till 2010
School runs this weekend, but I tapped out my funding buying the Fiat.
I so look forward to this experience.
Might try for a track day later this yr.

The "bonsai" run is planned, papers have been submitted and now I just have to clean my garage up.
Super excited to be starting this next phase in my life.
I guess I have no excuse to be carrying around a spare tire anymore. (On me) Time to get my butt in gear and get into shape.
Its going to take me a year just to make it too my first race. That's mainly due to the schools only run in May, but that's fine. I need time to prep the car and let the money tree recover :)

Need another forum to monitor like I need another car to take car... Wait a minute...
All in time.
A.
Andre, is the car home now? It looks very nice, you're going to have fun. mike
We leave 2nite.

Andre
Welcome to the club, as Ron said there are a few of us at the Mirafiori site that race these cars and try to share information. Have you tried Firebreathingfiats.com ? Its a good site also to read about Fiat race cars. Keep us posted on your progress.
Ted
Hi Ted, read about the cars for sure.
Nice looking machine.
I've been checking out a lot of roll bar configs.
A.
Ah yeah. I've stripped out this mess.
The new setup is without the MSD box and the required cut off switch.
Replaced the old fuse box too!
A.
Pretty lights.
And now in the spirt of a "budget minded racer" I scored a full OMP race suit, helmet, gloves and boots. Now I did not want to buy used, but great deal. The seller switch his suit to match the car. Kept it all clean.
Next item on my list will be the fuel cell.
Wiring is almost done, but its been raining here for days. I might have to stop to build an arc.
A.
PITA to cut a nice hole in the dash "quietly." Apparently my drill, saw and grinder we all a little too much for the family :)
Anyhow the kill switch is mounted.
Car should able to be fired up again this week.
In reply to André Rousseau:
Good to see the progress is moving forward. After my winter/spring engine rebuild on the big Healey everything is back in order with good success. I had my final run on the chassis dyno last week and pulled 200 hp @5100 rpm and 215 ft lbs @4100 rpm at the flywheel.
Portland Historics this weekend at PIR, my home track and I'll be packing 50 more hp than last year. Looking to have some fun with the German and Italians.
Are Toyota’s recall woes being blown out of proportion?
Yes. Toyota is the latest victim of a litigation-minded, safety-at-all-costs society.: 58%) No. These cars are as dangerous as spinning Corvairs and exploding Pintos.: 19%) I'm not sure: 23%)
