In reply to Ian F: Thanks Ian. You're right I'm going a little OTT but I enjoy the car building so much that it works for me and if I bend it I know I can fix it. No doubt I'll be a bit cautious..... LOL Hope to see you at the track some day. Cheers, Vince

Main Dash Control Panel in... I couldn't resist working until 2AM so I could see it in and tested...

By the way, if anyone is building a car from scratch and you'd like a wiring diagram I've designed, installed and tested mine from scratch and I've drafted up a schematic if anyone would like it. It's generic enough and would work for any Vintage car.

    Cheers, Vince

    Nice nice nice.

Only issue I see is the dash might blind you ;)

In reply to AndreGT6: Ya, good observation, LOL... Not as bad as it looks though since it does have some contour to it.

You do have a hardtop so should be ok.

But that is why I painted my dash in matt black.

The past couple of weeks has seen good progress. Zero'd in the timing, tuned in the carbs etc. and it is running unbelievably well and smooth, I think the Pertronix Dizzy can be given some credit. I was up until 2:30 AM putting in the Race Seat and Belts and fabbed and installed the front and rear tow points yesterday. Itching to drive it and looking forward to Aug 28 as my first event at a Solo 1...... http://classicmotorsports.net/reader-rides/3907/home-stretch/

Do you plan to race at Tremblant in Sept?

I'd love to see Tremblant and I bet it would be a beautiful drive over in the fall. Perhaps we'll check it out but won't race since I won't have a licence until next year. The balance of this year will be Solo's/Test and tune, working out suspension geometry and other such things. Race school in the spring and I'll be on the track with you and the group at Mosport next year..

If I can finish tuning the suspension I will do it.

Lots of things to resolve, but your right it is a great track.

Good place to test the GT6 hehe. http://vimeo.com/15331539

I haven't posted in a few weeks, but I've had my nose to the grind stone in order to make this week to have Brutus Race Ready... I had a blast at my first event today at a Solo1 put on by Twin Lakes Motor Club..

The cars performance exceeded my expectations...

One step closer to road racing with race school behind me. A race medical and regional road race application is next.

In the mean time I have a few things to work out on Brutus such as; moving the Kill SW, installing the camero studs in the front, braided brake lines and some engine work. A lot to cover if I want to make festival in Mid June....

A great weekend at race school in Shannonville where I had the pleasure of being coached by John who has been racing for 50+ years..

    Did you pass?

And how many times did you have to ask John to repeat himself ;)

Can't wait to see you and the GT6 in June.

Yes, I passed thanks Andre' so now a physical and regional race license. I have to get my ass cracking and get the motor and a few things sorted out.

I was right at home with John, he reminded me so much of my late grandfather who had an even heavier accent so understanding John was a sort of old hat for me and rather endearing.

See you at Mosport, hope Fiona is fealing race ready!

    I'll let you know.

Firing the engine up this weekend, but this time I'll let her idle.

I have a feeling Friday will start out slow and we'll build from there.

Andrew has very high expectation for me this year :)

I'm sure you'll have it in great order Andre'..

I've started building what will be my new engine for Brutus, on a very tight time line but I should get it done OK and will certainly be entertaining my evenings and weekends.

Sweet. Remind me to bring those springs eh...

I swapped out the foiled spark plugs tonight and she fired right up again.

I will do the 5K timing at Mosport. Can't do that in the drive way.

So far, so good with the enging. Parts are in, Crank is machined and I"ll be up at 5:30AM tomorrow to delivery engine components for precision balancing. Next weekend I should be doing the build and hopefully fire it up for the first time by Sunday...

One step closer to being race ready. Ceramic pads and larger studs in the front and braided brake lines all the way around went in this weekend. Last night I installed the new Kill switch.

Up at 5AM tomorrow to drive to the city and pick up the balance engine internals tomorrow ..
