I went drag racing last night with the P71 in my points class. It was our second to last event of the year and I was down in points. We ended up having a double-points night, I went all the way to the finals and runner-upped! (I red-bulbed the finals with a -.009 )

I'm now tied for 2nd in points with 15, 1 point behind the leader. 4th and down cannot catch us Top 3 no matter what, so I am going to nab at least a podium. I won the Championship last year with 2 wins and a runner up (all in the P71), this year I have 1 win (in John's GTO) and 2 runner-ups (both in the P71). Last race is Sept 19th, which is an issue, because that's also the last weekend of Oregon SCCA and I'm in the points lead for my class by a whisker!

Also, the P71 ran it's best-ever ET with a 14.824@91.95. Last season I was running 14.85-14.90 @93-94 but going through the traps in the top of 2nd. With the shorter tires I'm able to shift into 3rd and keep the wear and tear down. Trap speed is lower, but the car is less worked-out, and the ET's are quicker. Excellent!

My goal is a 14.78 by the end of the year, I think it's a little tuning away. I'm going to try and get the J-Mod done before the next meet.

Yeah, the slow shifting is starting to become apparent. Now that it's not shifting at 6,000RPM and only once it takes forever to get the shifts done.

I think the J-Mod (with some fresh trans fluid and filter), the new front tires (the rollout on 245/40's is bizarre), and a little more tweaking of the Superchips Tuner and I'll be back to 93-94 MPH and hitting 14.6's consistently. The data logger is showing a lot of down-time during shifts and my ET's were all over compared to normal (.05 difference all night).
