My wife's car is in the garage getting some love, so the MR2 became my DD for a while. With all this snow and cold weather, I figured the MR2 would never start and get stuck and slide into a ditch. But no! It worked great.

So I started thinking, why is Miata the answer? I mean, the MR2 works in the snow even better due to the mid-engine. It works in the rain well too.

And really, even when it gets a little wet AND muddy, the MR2 still works well.

Sure it is small, bit it can haul a lot more than a Miata.

And it can certainly tow more.

So the answer is not Miata, it is MR2!

Can we have this thread full of AW11s?

I'm strongly considering a pair of AW11s for my kids when they get to be of driving age. Two seats, hardtop(not a convertible), neat performance without being a death-trap...

Yeah, well...sometimes even when it IS broken I don't fix it.

I got a nice private response to this post from someone over at the D.O.D. Apparently, the Air Force has also decided that the MR2 is the answer.

The guys at Off Road Magazine asked me to add this link:

They think the answer is MR2 as well!

I've always wanted an early MR2, but there don't seem to be any left around here.

I've always thought the thing the AW11 was missing was an abundance of air and styling that wasn't over the top Eighties Japanese...

    Oh and box flares, FTW!

There's a red one setting at a used lot not far off I-65 on Rt-38 in Lafayette. Looks good from the street, but I won't let myself stop and look. I already own a Miata.

    Speaking of turds:

It rusted out from under me, but boy was it fun while it lasted. And I have to admit, it did fit me better than a Miata.

Any idea what they're asking? I'm going to need another car come spring, and i want it 4age powered. So i'm looking at AW11s, FX16s, and AE92 GTS.

I'm thinking they had $2200 on the windshield, but I've really, really been trying to ignore it.

I'll be driving past there on my way to Indy tomorrow morning, so if you twist my arm I might be able to take a peek. Of course, I don't really know anything about these.

I found me a FX16 last fall. Non-GTS, which is the ultimate corolla sleeper. It looks like a regular 8v FX and Its as fast as a stock AW, but you can actually fit a TV in the back if you need to (best part about the car).

The AW11 with Box Flares on Slicks really is the answer. The only way to improve that is a full Group B Rally AW11. Allow me to present:
