I have been looking for an E30, E36, or Miata track car to use as a weekend, track day, and auto x car but haven't had much luck. I would like to find a car that has already been setup for the track or at least started, cage, hard top, suspension, etc. I am trying to find a street legal car since I don't have a trailer or tow vehicle.

I am in the southeast so i have been using the following sites but haven't found much so now i am trying to expand my search anyone have suggestions?

Those are all places I check with some frequency. Another option would be one of the craigslist assist sites. If you search on "race car", you will find a bunch for sale.

CL is a great tool. You'll find lots of cars like that there. That's where I got mine.

I miss the GRM online classifieds... racingjunk just ain't working for me... too much drag race, circle track and non-GRM-oriented (mega-$ road race cars) stuff to search around...

    In reply to oldtin:

I prefer something with RWD and I am planning on doing TT, and maybe after a season or 2 move over to a spec class or GTS to do some wheel to wheel. Oh and I am thinking about 10k max, i would like to try to get something that is ready to go for that price otherwise have it be 8k and then 2k in work to get ready to run.

'struth. Lots of cruft and the categorization choices don't help with the sifting.

Not to pile on..... But I think that I've looked at Racingjunk twice since the transition. Many more times for the old classified format.

It is better to wear out than to rust out.

IIRC, Tom Heath recently mentioned a change to the classifieds. I think it's something like a sub-forum here where one could link to their Racing Junk ad. In other words, we'd get a section where we could see just GRMers ads!

I have a caged '83 GTI ITB car that I can be talked out of...

All cars are now running. Time to go shopping for something that is broken.

    Try mazdaracers.com classifieds at: http://mazdaracers.com/index.php?app=classifieds&module=core&do=view_categ...

The cars available there range from cheaper starter cars to National caliber cars.

I also just realized that I lurk far too much, as I seem to have been demoted from "Reader" to "New Reader"... The cut, it stings!

I can't find any sub forum named alabama on nasa forums, is that what you meant?

Hemmings has a race car section which usually has a good and varied selection.

I went to racing junk once. That was enough- not going back.
