    Not much rust on the frame or floor, that is a neglect issue as stated. That model Mercury is known for rust in the fender lips yet these are clear.

    I once ignored grinding brakes for months on my 1st car back in high school, but that never happened! how the???? whoa...

    i had an e30 convertible come in with a leaky gas tank as the complaint.... just driving it in and after the quick mechanical inspection we did on anything that came in i found the front right brake rotor outer side to be worn through to the vents, the outside pad COMPLETELY GONE, the piston nearly popping out, and the caliper itself had become the pad. ...yet no brake complaint.

    Pads down to metal is what does that, not rust.

    I've seen rotors worn down to the fins & people still driving on them , but that is a first.
