  After three years in B Mod, I'm going to switch gears and try something else for 2012. I've got a beautiful BMW 2002Tii that I'm building over at:

  and I've simply got to try my hand at F Street Prepared with it. So, look for updates along the way over on the ClassicMotorsports.net message board as I build/prepare and win!

  Dangit, if you could have waited another few months, I could try to keep up with my 2002 build! Of course, the garage is what's holding me up, and I haven't managed to pace the CM garage build, either...

  Cool car.

  Although, it sure makes me wonder why your 70's RWD, 2200lb, IRS, 2.0l injected motor is in FSP, and my '70's RWD, 2400lb, live axle, 2.0l injected motor is in DSP.... Odd how that works out.

  Per, love the project. One question about the Classic Tube brake lines. I was considering ordering them for my Datsun project but I was wondering about how they ship something so bulky and fragile. I'd hate to get them all mangled up by the shipper. Can you describe how they got to you undamaged?

  They ship them in a decent size box and because of their light weight and stiffness, they don't actually bend all that much in transit--think springy steel. There are a few spots that are lightly pre bent so they fit in the box, but they're easy to straighten back out. Highly recommended!

  Not anymore (maybe). I know BSP and CSP just got totally re-shuffled, which may have rippled out to the others.

  I've had two sets of brakes line from Classic Tube for a Volvo 1800ES which has 18 individual steel lines. They ship in a fairly long box packed in paper, but the longer rear end lines were bent 180 in the middle to fit. They straightened out without a problem.

  Looking forward to the FSP build. Do you think you'll be able to build a car that'll compete with the current champ while maintaining the restoration?

  Per's Dad raced that car..........

  It should be kept as a family heirloom while Per teaches Stig on the perils of m/c powered fast-fantasies.

  That was a great challenge, wasn't it?

  BTW, a few years ago, you proposed an idea of vintage classes for autocrossing... Any new ideas on that?

  I ordered a set of fitted lines for my 65 Mustang fastback. They were gently bent in half for shipping and straightened right out. But, it's worth noting that I discovered the brake lines were one of the first things that Ford installed on the chassis. I had to cut and flare the lines in order to get them up past everything else that was bolted to the car (suspension, exhaust, fuel lines, etc.). It would have been almost as easy to just buy a bunch of per cut lines and bend them to fit.

  This is the sort of thing that people who like this sort of thing will really like.

  Certainly--but I'm not going to poo-poo Geoff's years and years of development on that car. I'm just saying that it's going to be a challenging car to beat and a great benchmark for how the build is doing--and their in the Southeast, so I should see them more than once before nats.

  The only question I have now is how I'm going to transport the Hoosiers. I am actually considering driving it to Dixie, if not Nats. I'll need to find a vintage trailer hitch or design one that is removable.

  Maybe an E30 hitch would give you a good starting point?

  But really just a big plate that bolts through the floor of the spare tire well.
