Three years in the making, and Midlana, the mid-engine turbo Sevenish sort of car will be tuned this week. Took the week of to get this done and have been dealing with all sorts of odds and ends, and it looks like it's going to happen.

There was a "guess the hp" contest to win a book and the guesses were all over the map, from 160 hp to 460. I'm of course hoping for something toward the latter. Guess we'll all find out soon!

Wow, Kurt. Nice work. I'm awaiting the book although anything I build will not have 475hp. I'm thinking ~200 would scoot that thing along nicely.

Hah, yes, I've received a number of notes about people using the entire day reading the site... usually at work, cough. The site's here http://www.midlana.com/ Yes it'll be street legal, with lights, and probably will have a snap-on top, like a Jeep.

    Off to get the trailer...

Midlana.com has been one of my favorites for a while...I get flak from my SO when I spend too much time there...so much carporn, so little time...

Kurt, I read your blog once a week or so and have really enjoyed both builds. Two young kids, lots of other responsibilities: I'm living through you vicariously - good luck!

Gotta tow the car 90 miles each way to the dyno, so I'll let everyone know tonight.

    K24A2 with a turbo.... Tasty.

I can't wait to see what you put down for power and will now spend the rest of my day reading the build diary rather than accomplishing anything meaningful.

Read my mind, did you? Good thing I've access to the web from my work station, and ALSO that I have few visitors to my little slice of heaven...

Man, I saw this a while ago and it's my go to link for guys who want to build their own car. It's like a Locost that you can stick a transverse fwd motor in the back!

I'm so pleased to have found your post on here, and I'm very excited to see what you make for power. I'm taking a welding course at school with the final goal being to build a b20vtec powered Midlana.

Assuming a good tune and no issues, I'll go 302 HP. 91 Octane sucks.

Were it on E85 / race gas, I'd put it over 400 easy, and maybe over 500.
