i was thinking about it, but theres almost nothing outside of the oem tires that is the same diameter as 215/45/18, unless i want to go to a 255/35 or something. probably going to end up buying a used set of oem takeoffs

Hrmmm...... $80 per set more than the RS2 Z212s....

What's the treadwear on these things? I would much rather 225/45-16s this time around, but i guess i could stay with 215/45-16s if these are better tires.

Sounds like m4ff3w needs to upgrade to 14's or 15's then ;)

what do you have on 13's? a mini? no, those were 12's weren't they?

    I think he's got an X1/9.

Yep, and like I mentioned to him before I believe. A set of 4x100 wheels, "wobble" lugnuts/studs or lugbolts and he can move up a little to more commonly found sizes.

I think later Mini's could have 13's but many were 10's and 12's I believe.

Either way, not much sporty in the smaller sizes anymore. Maybe the movement towards smaller cars again will bring the smaller sizes over the pond(s) to the States again.

Judging by the prices, the 17s will be more than the Direzza Star Specs when they get out.

    The end of cheap Kumho's?

1st gen RX7s have 13s and alternatives are very rare

I assume the X1/9 is 4-114 like the 1st gen RX7's right? If so you guys should be looking up wheels for the new Nissan Versa. It's also 4-114 and it looks like a lot of wheels makers are supporting this platform. The offset for most of these wheels are a little high, 35-45mm range (5-5.5" backspace), so you may need extended studs and a 1/2" - 1" spacer for it to work perfectly.

'Feared not. The Exxie is 4x98 mm, the 1st gen RX7 (except the GSL-SE) is 4x110 mm. It's not real difficult to redrill the RX7 hubs for 4x100, meaning you can now get a huge selection of wheels.

Looks like they have a 245/40/17 out now.

Now to figure out how to get that much tire in the wheel wells of my E30.
