yes, i put about 90 miles on it tonight. the car seems more stable, but i think it's running hotter since the cooling fan is kicking on at highway speeds. i need to get a temp gauge. maybe tomorrow, i will use some of the remaining edging to make the airdam under the radiator a little lower, and maybe extend that out to the sides of the car to keep more air out from under the car.
it definitely feels like the engine isn't working as hard to maintain highway speeds, too, which means less fuel being used. this is a good thing.
maybe i'll get another roll and make up some side skirts.
i haven't had any hot women ask me for a ride, but i have gotten a few weird looks. one guy in an F350 diesel with the lettering for a junkyard on the side looked at the front of my car, shook his head, and laughed a little...

why yes, yes i do. i've had this set of 4 "rears" just collecting dust since i got the second set to make a set of 4 "fronts" for the T Type back in the summer of '04. now i've got a use for them- and they not only look good, but they are light and have room for 12" brakes if i should ever decide to upgrade.

looking at your picture.. it looks like there is not a lot of airflow at all through the front "grill" any chance opening that up some would help?
The F bodies all tended to suck their cooling air up from under the car, didn't they?

Yup, air from the bottom. You can make them mouthbreathers, though. You have to get rid of most of the lower grille and trim some parts to get enough air through there.

i've got the front grille totally blocked off. i'm gonna keep it a bottom breather. the stock air deflector under the radiator is slightly lower than the air dam that i added, so i thought maybe it might pick up enough airflow to jam up thru the radiator core to keep it cool, but i guess not. the weird part is that the first part of my trip was in the 90 degree heat of the late afternoon, an the cooling fan never kicked on. but when i made my return trip at 11pm when it was 75 degrees, the fan kicked on. i also want to jam more air up in front of the radiator because that's where the air cleaners are, and a little bit of a ram air effect is never a bad thing.

I'd unblock the grille. You need some airflow coming from that area, being a high pressure area and all.

Open up the grille and block off the area between the air dam and the radiator.
What's happening is, you are making a low pressure area underneath the radiator and the air is preferentially going under the radiator instead of through it.
Notice that GM put a fairly beefy airdam looking thing directly underneath the radiator... this made a high pressure area in front of the radiator and a low pressure area behind it. What you did, moved that.

yeah, and i now fixed it.. i made an air deflector under the radiator. i experiment in stages- if it didn't run hot, i wasn't going to bother with the second air deflector. i have thought about opening up the grille and blocking it off between the radiator and nose to make an air box, but i'd prefer to keep the nose as blocked off as possible and grab as much air from down low as i can. seems it would be more aerodynamically clean that way. i'm wanting to make a different grill blockoff that is out flush with the nose instead of set back into the nose about an inch, and also find a way to bring the turn signal lenses out flush, too. if i had any money, i'd be taking that LT1 off the engine stand and that 700r4 out from under the bench and placing them into the engine bay, but i'm broke so i have to play with the "free" stuff.. -

if i were you, id scrounge a lip from an RS or Z28 from the boneyard. they should be pretty cheap ive got full body kits for 20 -40bucks.
