One day I was at a local dyno day, and a guy rolled up in a completely stock looking accord. Stock exhaust, stock wheels, stock stance, stock everything except I noticed he had RT615s on 14s.

Everyone was laughing behind his back when he went to strap up. Then the exhaust cutout opened up.

He put down 320 whp. Everyone was like ........ ......

So, if you had infinite money, and were going to build a car for the strict purpose of totally surprising people at dyno days, and sucking the doors off unexpecting people (on the drag strip of course), which car would you pick?

    Sky is the limit

Something like a mid 80's Buick century, wire wheel hubcaps and everything.

North of 400 hp at the wheels, never less than 350 "torques".

Square left in 50 caution ocean!

My old SRT-4 swapped first gen neon was fun. Stock appearance down to the wheels, ~290whp and 350 wtqs. Not a 'dyno queen' by any stretch, but it certainly surprised people.

    Nathah

miata with the vett swap, then build said vett (cams, porting, blah blah blah) and a 200 shot of nos... hahahahaha you MIGHT be able to WOT in 5th gear without spinning on slicks....

I would want to do a stock 92 Sentra XE four door in gold, with a built SR20VET setup with a gt35r and a big ol shot of nitrous.

Kind of like my old sleeper but with 600 whp instead of 180.

2wd Jeep Cherokee with Vortex supercharger-fed Hemi with 200 shot of NOs. Halway through the dyno run,, open up the electric exhaust cut outs...

But instead of a car, put it in a full size van.

We did do a 408-ish cid Mopar (Magnum engine) for a work van. He installed the headers himself, which was good because nobody makes headers for a van, with good reason. Much metal bashing and cutting needed to be done... Anyway, the stock barrel intake manifold limited power to about 300hp but the torque on this engine was disgusting. Like, roll into the throttle too hard at 50mph and it'd break the tires loose, without downshifting, kind of disgusting. It's a riot.

    Eaaaaasy:

Take SRT-4 engine, coupled with some upgrades, and drop it into this:

    An 80's Dodge 600.

No one, ON ONE would suspect anything until it was too late :D

Make that into a wagon with the wood paneling, and we have a ballgame.

    Go fast or go broke.

i've seen a few older chevy duallies with worked over 454s and slicks tucked under the fenders at the track, would probably be cool to build one from a newer truck with the modern diesels. i've seen stockish ones run in the low 14s, and they can put down monster numbers on the dyno.

for cars, i'd build something with an all motor K20. someting about 11k motor screaming through the revs

y'all ever made one o' them LS-Miatas with a supercharger? Methinks a twin screw under a slightly sectioned hood would be hilarious.

650whp and 460 ft-lbs of torque at 29 PSI (still on stock cams)

The engine I posted above basically fit anywhere a standard Gen III would.

In an all-up 4th-gen F-body, it was good for low 10s at nearly 140mph. Full interior. Full accessories, meaning functional airbags, ABS, A/C, power windows and locks, cruise control... everything. Pump gas. OBD-II compliant. Street tires (albeit biiig ones). So, let's say 3600lb. (Trap speed calcs have it at about 800hp...)

What would it be like at 2500?

That's not much of a dyno queen, and while quiet, it definitely didn't sound like a B6 engine, and 315-width tires are a little hard to stick under a Miata...

Are we talking dyno queens or sleepers?

I didn't know you could drive a MKIV Supra. I thought they were all permanently attached to dyno rollers.

If its a sleeper, make an Evo look like a regular Lancer.
