That's not a panicked yell. That's a frustrated yell. The howl you make at the world when you realize it's your own berkeleying fault.
The only thing that lets me sleep at night (even all these years later) is that a couple of drivers/tech guys/stewards looked over my car in the boneyard and discovered a bad balljoint (sheared instead of bent usually means component failure) shortly after my own howl like that...

It's weird...I still have dreams about it.
Here's another one-and to you Corner Workers, this is why we say place yourself behind the vehicles when you're working a "hot" track:

That's a Viper. I actually prefer plain-functional interiors in cars, as opposed to more "polished" interiors. Think Viper, S2000, Solstice, RX-7 FD compared to NSX, 350Z.

my howls have always included high volume profanity, i think their much more effective that way.
A few friends and I actually created a degree scale , rating the severity of the so called pre crash howl (we just called it the yell back then.)
for example, if you were able to get "OH E36 M3!" out, it probably wasn't going to be that bad.
three words or more in profane string meant you'd probably be able to save it or just inflict minimal damage.
On the other hand, if you only have time to get out "FU.." it was going to be painful...
insert witty phrase here..

I was at that race where that Viper wrecked. No injuries to anyone fortunately. It landed ON TOP of the corner worker station! Needless to say, the racing was delayed a bit while things were fixed. The tires acted a bit like a ramp.

I like how to comments on some of those videos talk about what a horrible driver they are. That RX7 had something go pretty wrong I think. Steering inputs did nothing.

This is a pretty nasty 944 wreck.

Every time I start thinking about hitting the track, even for a HPDE, I see videos like these. I know mistakes happen, and that's just my issue. I don't want to head off into the trees (like that Summit Point video, which would be my home track) because something broke or I did something stupid.
Maybe that's why I'm an autocrosser... I'm a chicken E36 M3.

Fantastic! Weird thing these days...I only curse when playing Forza online. I figure racing's like sex...if you can still form words, you're faking it.

Seriously though, I only ever cursed in the car after I actually caught it ("..BERKELEY, THAT WAS CLOSE!!!.."). I've only had the one big hit, so this is not a scientific study of the subject. OTOH, I really do curse playing Forza, and constantly curse during autocrosses.

They are not that bad, the radio is terrible and out of a Neon but they are great fitting cars.
It also looks to be a gen 4 as I can see what looks like light bezel in the clip.

Bah. Non-enthusiast passengers don't count.

OTOH, hearing "..what the berkeley are you DOING?.." from another gearhead in the other seat makes me actually wonder about what the berkeley I'm doing...

The only enthusiast yells in my recorded sessions are "hit the gas!" The "WTF!" yells have all occurred on late night (unrecorded) gravel 'stages.'

I don't know who to blame there, I think bad decisions were made by both parties. If any were to be called malicious, I'd blame the golf. The camera car was faster, and the golf tried to block. Did a fight break out in the pits

I haven't been to NHIS, but the roval I've raced on here in SEDIV is Charlotte. It's really common to dive down low at the start because it's not too far from where you make the cut into the infield. Looks like they both had the same idea at once. I also notice the green Golf had to light the brakes a little. Maybe the guy in front of him checked up or missed a shift or something?

I dont know anything about this kind of racing.. Is there qualifying? The camera car was obviously faster than everything else that could be seen in the video, but if he's starting at the back.. well it depends on if there is qualifying.
Anyway, i think since he obviously had the power to pass everything else, trying to push so hard right there was just dangerously greedy. It looked like he could have passed easily NEXT time he came onto that straight when the crowd thinned out a little.
