We had a terrific day of autocrossing yesterday at Deland Airport, with warm temperatures and blue skies filled (literally filled) with parachute jumpers. At one point there were about 50 of them up at once, jumping out of 4 planes.

Per's car (with Kim driving) grenaded a motor big time. At least that didn't happen at Nationals.

I coned away a narrow lead, ended up losing by a tenth. Rats. But I had fun anyway - the turbo is a blast to race.

Results here. Per had a GoPro on the nose, so maybe he'll post some video from his runs. It was a very busy course, lots of slaloms.

There's gotta be an easier way to change the oil....

Nope, $6 worth of AN10 pushlok line snuck loose and hit the header, spewing oil onto the header. It's fixed and cleaned, and ready to roll for next time. That said, I'm pretty sure I'm not going to get Kim in that seat again. Which is a major bummer. I could have lived with rebuilding the engine, but this is actually more of an issue for my 2012 plans.

Wow, that's good news. Sorry I jumped to conclusions before I spoke to you about it.

It happens. Just roll with it, and find what she does like, it'll make you both happier in the long run. The opposite happened to me. My wife got her first hit of the shifter pipe, and now she refuses to give it up for anything else. I wasn't much into them, but am slowly learning.

Yep. Looking at options for 2012 that she and I both like. I'm thinking MRSpyder in CSP or STF MINI.

As a reader, I'd love to see this one provided it gets some magazine (or web article) coverage.

Glad its not worse(like big oil fire worse) and all will be well with little effort/$$.

My wife doesn't want to drive my open wheel car either,so she just bought a '99 miata to use for her summer DD and autox'r.Kinda of a pain as now its a truck towing a car and her following in another car and I need to carry and change her race rubber, good thing fuel is cheap right??.

And it would be interesting to see somebody build a serious competitor to the "Spec Miata" class... CSP is worse than E-Stock.
