I've got a 96 Saturn SL2 where just the pillar trim has clear coat peel. Since these unscrew so easily, I want to take them off and just give a quick rattle can clear coat spray. Not looking for show quality, but want to improve over the current.

What is the best way to deal with the remaining clear, and especially the transition area where the original is peeling?

Is there a way for me to post a picture to show the area? I can't seem to figure out how to get a photo from my hard drive attached

    Thanks

I would sand through the clear and just hit it with a good quality rattle-can of gloss black.

spending money I don't have to buy parts I don't need to impress people I don't know

wetsand the whole thing with 1000ish, try to blend the line where the peel stopped without going through the color, hit with rattle can clear.

i've done whole body panels this way and it looks good for a couple years.
