whoa
And they took certain critical safety precautions, such as rigging up a public address system.
that is nice, and i like the 325i badge
Few things in the automotive world make me sad that was one of them
Why does it make you sad? It looks phunky phresh to me. I would love a BMW Starion.

Neat seatbelts. Good looking car, whatever it is.
I kinda like it, in a weird Frankenstein kind of way. Looks like it took a lil' work to do it.
How can it be a midlife crisis, when I've driven sportscars my entire life?
I love how those things look, and I don't see how more power can make it bad.
Drunken sailors spend cash that they've already earned. If our politicians started spending like drunken sailors, it would be a big improvement.

Ah yes I havent expressed my anti-BMW views on here yet. I guess I dont see the point, there is plenty to be had out of the 2.6 it came with. If you need more or MPI 4g63 are fairly common and everybody has done everything with them.
I dont know all things BMW seem as close to soulless as a car can get every time I drive one I envision its name being Ralph and it eating a lot of oatmeal :Runs and hides from the BMW crowd:

I worked my way through college as a valet and drove practically every non-exotic vehicle sold in this country in recent memory. 'Soulless' is exactly how I would describe 95% of the rolling appliances I got behind the wheel of. But not many BMW's - particularly those of the smaller, older or M varsities. Unless you daily drive a Lotus Seven, I'm not sure exactly how you've managed to arrive at such a firmly held, polar opposite impression.
Your profile says you're 18 and drive Neon's. Feel free elaborate on your experience with BMW's.

This is a little harsh don't you think?
As a auto tech I have driven just about every kinda car you can think of within reason (and some that are very unreasonable 454 s-10 comes to mind) and until I got a ride in one at a lapping day I would have thought the same thing. I think they are just kinda so-so till you throw one in to a corner at WOT but that is just my two cents.

That's the point of going with the uncommon BMW swap.
Looks rather clean under the hood! ... looks like a total POS inside!
I would totally take a well done BMW swapped Turbo'd wide body starion.... and I'm a DSM guy.
Boneyard .... If you think BMW's are soulless you should be glad someone did something fun with their motor!
It's about time you man up, buy a $500 dollar car, and join us on the BA/BE Rally!
that starion made baby Jesus cry...theres some 80s japanese goodness you just dont monkey with, and the starion is one of em. Now, that swap into the firebird ...delicious

Now that is truly blasphemous a BMW inline six can't weigh much less than a small block chevy.

LS1 weighs less, right?
That is all kinds of awesome. I don't like the BMW gauges hacked into the dash so much, but if it all works thats cool.
Dudes looking for a V8 car but is selling a V8 Firebird?

To start I didnt join here to be insulted about my age or what I drive. As a neon lover anything bad that can be said about a vehicle has been said about mine so perhaps Im desensitized to it. For what its worth Ive driven 3 BMWs e30 325i It was a friends car fairly good shape no real mods that I was aware of and it just sort felt flat and boring e46 323 A very nice car but a sports car it isnt e46 M3 Very very fast much faster than I am as a car to take for a fun drive on a public road it was boring the limits of the car are just too high to get anywhere near
I dont drive a 7 however my last neon was fairly minimalist, no heat no ac no PS, no rear seats, no carpet, no sound dreading, no air bags, fairly high spring rates, and so on
Who on Earth would put a BMW engine in a Japanese car? Oh wait....

Jeremy Randolph's RX-7 a $2008 entry.

most correct statement ever entered onto this board.
I agreee, outside of the political threads (and Im not even a bg fan of those) we all agree on one thing. We like cars. Lets not end up like so many other forums tossing flame throwers at each other all day

imo, he started it.
spending money I don't have to buy parts I don't need to impress people I don't know
To be honest,... I never got BMWs either until I bought my Ti. The first time I really leaned on it in a corner (even with it's then stock and completely rotten suspension and skinny stock wheels) I understood.. it was like having an automotive ephaniny.
I can understand why the E46s did not talk to you.. they are rather luxurious and the 323 has a rather gutless engine for the car's weight.. but to put down the e30.. while it does not handle that well compared to the newer cars (it can be fixed) it has one of the most communicative chassis ever built.
It also bites if you are careless.
