There is a good chance we're going to end up with some bottlecaps for the E30. I never liked the look of them, and then I found this:

Anybody else do anything cool with them?

Not a big fan of the star in the middle.

How about painting them to look like real bottle caps from your favorite beer? That might be a little over the top though.

Polish the lip and paint the centers gold?

I've always been a fan of black and red, or a similar black and blue set up. Both look fantastic on a black car.

Neither am I, thats just an example though. Trying to figure out what would go good with ours (burgundy) if we do end up with some.

Wish I had time to learn photoshop... maybe after finals.

Bronze, possibly with a polished lip.

I paint the ones on my race car a hammered charcoal. Essentially, they look black after accumulating brake dust. They look only marginal. They really need the colored lip to look good. I was going to do that red lip next. It looks good, provided the paint color of your car works with it.

This is not really related to anything but wheel painting, but my Infiniti G20 is white and has the stock "meshies" - alloy w/ a polished lip. Bad cameraphone pic :

Im really wanting to do something a little different, so Im thinking of painting them white to match the car (I know its a wish upon a star to match 10+ year old paint just by color code, but its been garageed for almost its entire life, and I got a little bottle of touch up from the factory - Im hoping to get a paint store to reproduce a quart or so for me). Then I want to paint the lip bronze.

    Those wheels are so badass!

There is nothing in this world that can't be made tougher by the addition of red and black.

I have a set of the factory 14" BBS basket weaves with the centers that could replace those. I did a 5 lug swap so they don't fit anything I own and they are hogging much needed space in the cellar. 2 of the 4 tires have "not enough camber" wear and two are fine. They are Falken 5 or 912s.

$100 and you come get 'em or pay the shipping.

I've thought of giving my Miata's stock daisy wheels a black with red stripe treatment. Probably will at some point, especially since they're off the car for winter right now...

Those done in black with a red lip would just be freaking awesome.....makes me want an E30 just for a set of bottlecaps.

I had a set on my CRX, which I painted Rustoleum Sail Blue. I went black with blue striping. It looked pretty badass.

Those machined wheels look pretty sweet.

I found these on a honda fanboi site when I was thinking about buying a set for my old miata.

Bottlecaps look good on almost anything. I bought a Tercel wagon a few years ago and they actually came with a set of these. I wish I held onto them! Mk2 VW wheels are somewhat in the same boat. I have a set of teardrops that were painted black and i've had them on 3 of my previous vehicles. You can always pick up a set of em cheap on Vortex if you do some looking around.

Gold with a polished lip should look good on a maroon car.

And wow, I want that, even though the front offset looks bizarre.

I had a set on my old 92 Civic HB, they made the car look much better than the 13in steelies that were on it.

This is actually the car they would be going on. Go ahead and click to the third picture. http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/reader-rides/1839/ I agree with this completely. Except the brake dust is awful. We are looking for another set of wheels for autocross, and want to put as little money as possible towards it.

    Make them shoot flames?

The painted lip thing looks ricey to me. Not a fan. I do love the bottlecaps though. Clean 'em up, shoot 'em with some duplicolor wheel paint, call it done.
