  Well I finally tore into the 530i I towed back from TN on Saturday.

  Things that need attention:

  1. Valve Cover Gaskets
  2. PCV
  3. Clean the intake
  4. Coolant Flush
  5. Water pump
  6. Belts
  7. Front suspension rebuild
  8. Struts and shocks

  I pulled the spark plug covers and coils and there was nearly 1/2 quart of oil in there . . . per side I also pulled the intake manifold and it was a ton of oil behind the intake under the PCV as well as inside. . . GASKETS FOR E'ERYONE!!

  I'm going to order all of the gaskets and cooling system stuff today (I have a PCV on the shelf). Suspension stuff later once I decide what to replace it with (stock = no)

  lol . . . So far it hasn't been that bad. Other than oil EVERYWHERE . . .it's been pretty straight forward car to work on. For $1400 I'll have a good running E34 V8 manual.

  Srsly . . .oil was everywhere lol . . .

  They are suprisingly easy to work on. I have a 540i 6-speed (almost challenge priced) and love it. I'll be going through the front suspension soon. Valve cover gaskets are on my list of things to do (slight leak). Enjoy the car!

  No more smoke!! and No more Muffler !

  The rest of the front suspension bits and rear shocks should be here next week.

  200 miles on her so far and it's been a blast!! Can't wait to get her to the HPDE next month . . .
