I think it's sweet, it gives me crazy ideas! Well, I don't like the wheels. I wonder how much weight it adds, though. I like the black one on page three.

Honestly, I'm starting to see one of my sub-2k beaters getting something like this...

He should post here rather than on the Vortex. At least here we would appreciate his individuality.

That thing looks awesome. I wonder what that stuff does to the aerodynamic efficiency, though...

Ya and I wonder if it adds any weight? I think it's really cool. I am not sure I would do a street car but I could see doing a race car or rally car. I love it when people do different things like that.

I've seriously considered bedlining the undercarraige of my car because of all of the snow, sand, and salt we get each winter, but this takes the cake. All that bedlining must weigh a ton, though!

This is absolutely and completely off-topic, but it's one of my favorite factoids:

The dry-film weight of the paint on a C-5 Galaxy weighs more than an entire Piper Cub.

A golf ball comes to mind.

I'd never do it to any of my cars, but all in all, I think it's quite cool.

Well, how would one go about figuring the weight addition by going that route? C'mon, someone here went to college.

    2. Weigh car after painting.

I love how all the haters are treating that $3000 B5 like it's a collector's item. A B5 in the "pre-lined" condition he describes IS a beater!

i would do that in a second if I stumbled across a CRX HF. I'd do a K20 engine swap, coil-overs, strip the interior, exterior and bed line the entire car, replace the interior with the one out of the K20 donor and have a rad MPG friendly trackable tosser!

You could weigh an empty can and a full can.

I also, don't have my degree yet (nor would my degree be the least bit useful, horray liberal arts!)

it would actually be less than the weight of the liquid in the can, because the water will dry off, and the aerosol in the can will evaporate. the measurement would be close enough for our purposes, but slightly off.

it's mainly the appearance section of that forum that pisses me off. I just stick to the state section, firebird section, and look at the cool hybrid stuff.

I'm undecided about the car but I know I really, really don't like the wheels. That said, I want to cover my Toyota truck in tan bedliner. That would be fantastic.

I don't think it will hold up all that well but I really like it. I think I actually like the wheels the best, dig the texture, reminds me of floam.

That guy is awesome. That's the same person that had the 50+ page thread about his excursions with Arizona Parking Services!

If he used 2 gallons it's under 40lbs of weight added. How much does a normal paint job add? If it's really that noticeable turn up the boost.
