Just thinking about the close talking thing, and someone with real TV experience can answer, but on TV don't you kind of have to be a close-talker? If not, how do you get both people in the shot?
This.
Check out your local evening news team some day. Look how close they're actually sitting to each other. Chances are there's about a fist-width between their shoulders. Now actually sit next to someone like that. It's pretty tight quarters.

Y'know, I've considered that, but in other cases it doesn't give me the heebie jeebies. Yet, with Barry, it makes it difficult for me to watch the show. All the time I'm thinking "dude, get out of his face!" and "I bet that guy knows exactly what Barry had for lunch!" Maybe it's because he is taller than most folks and tends to lean over them.
That chick on "What's My Car Worth" makes me nervous, too. All that poppin' and lockin' and jerkin' going on while she is talking.
Maybe I'm just too sensitive to such things and need to spend more time working in the garage and less time watching TV.
