Or is there a great mazda parts website i'm not finding?

I need to find out if i can get the long bolts in my rear suspension for the Escort or not before i do something dumb to them to get them out.

The parts guys at my normal dealership don't seem to understand what i'm talking about on the phone, which is par for the course. I usually go in there, have them pull up the exploded diagram, and point at what i want.

Can anyone halp? I'll even order them through you.

One of the Mazda dealers here in Atlanta maintains this awesome online parts catalog. You should be able to find the part you need on here, jot down the part number, then check that your local dealership can get it.

I use this all the time for finding obscure parts for the RX-8 (silly guys in the parts dept never know what I'm talking about). http://www.jimellismazdaparts.com/default.aspx

Oh HELL yeah!!!! That thing is incredible! (But also tells me that my bolts were NOT put in backwards. )

Car doesn't qualify for Mazda Motorsports program.

    Bookmarked that site, though!

    Yeah, this makes me mad.

    http://www.jimellismazdaparts.com/showAssembly.aspx?ukey_assembly=302993&ukey_...

Bolt 28-112, there's two of them. I've got them loose already, but they run into the gas tank.

So basically, to replace control arms on this thing, i have to either drop the subframe or the gas tank? WTF?

Quad post because i'm awesome like that.

Nevermind, i have custom arms in the back that don't have those bolt cups on them.

I can just cut the old arms off, then run a new bolt through in the other direction so i don't have this problem again.

    Hey, also....

On the link above... i need part "Z". Can't seem to find it in any of the diagrams. I'm guessing that means i can't have it?

IIRC on Mazda diagrams that Z would be a key to show you that another parts diagram connects there, or the part is shown in separate inset diagram. In other words, you've got to dig around the diagrams some more to find a better image of the part...

^That's what i was thinking... haven't found it yet.

    Three observations:

    1) Interesting that i can still get every hardware part i need for this thing other than a) rear strut knuckle bolts and b) washers that go between front control arm and rear bushing.

    2) $289.84 for all new hardware for entire suspension doesn't sound all that bad to me.

    3) Never show me these diagrams again. They're too fun to look at it, and it's not something my wallet likes.

    Serious question:

Should i just buy the hardware that i know isn't really re-useable? Or should i buy it all as a "while i'm in here" type deal?

Wtf is going on? I can only get into this thread if i search google for it, and it's showing up on the Classic Motorsports site, even though it's a Grassroots motorsports link.

    http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=grassroots%20motorsports%20mazda%20...

This is the link... brought me to here, and it's on the Classic Motorsports site.

I can't get on the GRM side at all.

Should i be surprised that i can find almost all the parts i need at www.jimellismazdaparts.com and can't find any at Rosenthal or Med Center Mazda?

Or am i doing something horribly wrong?

I suggest calling Malloy Mazda in VA. Ray Crowe managed to find things that didn't exist in the Mazda Parts catalog for me before.

    Appreciate it!

Don't really want to waste someone's time when i'm really just price shopping right now, though....

I can get what i need from Jim Ellis for $330 + shipping, just trying to see if i can get it cheaper elsewhere. That's a rough pill to swallow for some nuts, bolts, and washers.

Ray is an enthusiast- you won't be wasting his time if he can give it to you cheaper and he gets the sale.

They shipped the wiring harness I got from them for "free"- and it was free since they had already quoted me a price and I asked if they could ship it after the quoted it.

Sometimes, we have to admit that choosing the perfect car for us is a bit challenging. That is why I had to ask help when I bought mine. I got the ideal car when I went to a dealership in Valparaiso trying to find a Mazda. Mazda is one of the best brands out there. All of its automobiles look great on the outside and come with more technology than expected. I knew I wanted a Mazda, but I did not know which one would be right for me. I went to the dealership, and the dealer helped me pick out the ideal car. At Mazda Valparaiso, you are able to find a Valparaiso dealership.
