I used one to remove 4 ball joints from M3 control arms today.

I broke my HF ball joint press trying to do it the "right" way... who knew you could grind them out in 5 minutes? It was just blind rage that led me to try it.

I'll be trying to use an angle grinder for everything from brushing teeth to wiping my arse from now on.

    Video or it didn't happen.

Angle grinders can also race like belt sanders when you accidentally bypass the safety and turn them on while trying to pick them up and the blade is still touching the ground. I've still got the scar where it ran over my hand with massive wheelspin. Didn't feel a thing there for a while...

There's no need for tattoo's when you have an angle grinder to leave their share of scars.

But seriously, when I got the Brat, I learned to use the "speedwrench" to dis-assemble most things. I would usually do more damage trying to undo a rusty bolt rather than cutting it off and replacing it.

Yea, I also have massive scarage from those. Blink of an eye, new tattoo, usually on the back of my left hand.

I need a new one... my last one went up in some fairly noxious smoke. Any suggestions?

I see your angle grinder and raise you my cordless Sawzall.

    BEST TOOL EVER!!!!

I love going to the Pull-a-Part because the dollar admission is cheaper than most car shows and you almost always see cooler cars.

I think you're breaking a universal rule or three:

    1. WTF with the gloves, man?
    2. WTF with the "safety" handle, man?
    3. +1 for the 20v.

When working with an angle grinder, please remember to wear shorts, flip-flops, no gloves, and remove that handle. One handed operation is best. Preferably close to fuel lines. Nothing makes an angle grinder permanent like burning it into your skin with flaming oil residue (of gasoline).

I think I have three angle grinders laying around my current project just to make sure one is handy at all times...

I got one in 1997 for $10 mail ordered from Harbor Freight catalog. Instead of a trigger it had an on/off switch and vibrated like crazy compared to the DeWalt I kept borrowing from my uncle. That blasted Chinese thing still runs! And I still use the crap out of it.

The 4 1/2" Harbor Freight angle grinder is much better than the 4". The last 4" I had went up in smoke.

The 4.1/2" is still going after years of abuse.

Remember to unplug them when changing disks. That can get messy.

All cars are now running. Time to go shopping for something that is broken.
