Yesterday, I decided to wash the bird crap off of my car since I was having hand surgery and it would be parked in the garage for over a month.
I discovered what looked like blueish gray grease behind the front wheel and along the length of the drivers side rocker. I figured that I drove through a blob of grease on the road and it got sprayed along the underside of the car. I cleaned it off and, as expected, I found it up inside the front wheel well.
The thing is, though, that is where the dryer for the air conditioner is and I'm wondering if maybe what I found is oil from a leak in the A/C system. I did have the air on last week, but it never blew really cool anyway, so I didn't notice a problem.
Maybe I'm being paranoid, but, because of this hand issue, I can neither work on nor drive the car to figure out if I have an A/C problem or if I just drove through grease in the road. I also know almost nothing about A/C systems or what flows through them, so I'm turning to the board for help.
Any suggestions?
