Sharing is more fun than not, so what the hey. Here it is:

    http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/reader-rides/1013/

I'm going to keep the build log in the Reader's Rides section since Mr. Baxter has worked so hard on making that section user-friendly. This is just a "heads up" that it's over there.

Hey Tim (Baxter) -- can we get a checkbox or sorting tool of some sort so that we can pull all of the challenge cars up in a list in Reader's Rides?

P.S. I just updated the backstory with a lot more detail, but it seems like that may take a while to show up.

A formidable competitor! Well, you know, once it can move under it's own power and all.

Looks like you've got a long road ahead of you, good luck and keep us posted!

Wow! I love me some Lotus goodness.

So are you going to the Florida or California events? (hey it is Houston, he could go either way)

A donor MR2 or Miata might get you rolling again after some welding of course ;)

Florida. The drive is shorter, and it's the original Half the fun will be seeing/meeting all of the folks I've read about over the past nine years.

Oh yes, there will be welding. If the parts car I'm going to see this weekend pans out, I will eventually have some 4AGE goodness screaming behind my head.

Cool! Is there maybe some Subaru power implanting in its future? Or perhaps an Audi longways transaxle setup?

EDIT: I see 4AGE plans. That's cool, too!

Ah okay, that is a good thing and a bad thing:

Good: I won't have to try and beat it with my 924

Bad: I won't be able to get beaten by it in person.

Well, stop posting here and get out there and get moving on it!

I'm thinking Gulf Livery. It has the look to pull it off. I'd go for because we may not see a GT40 at the Challenge.

My first slot car was the Gulf GT40.

You are what you do, when it counts.

Y'all may or may not know this, but the Europa was Lotus' pitch to Ford for the LeMans car that they wanted to build to beat Ferrari. Colin Chapman insisted that the car be called a Lotus-Ford, which probably had something to do with the fact that Ford eventually chose Lola's design -- which was named the GT-40. The rest is history.

So yes, Gulf livery would be very fitting and I have considered it. But that's probably not what the car will get.

(ckosacranoid -- I do in fact own the eX-Driver DVD collection. I LOVE the cars in it, and the detail to which they are animated. Caterham 7, Europa, Lancia Stratos, GC8 WRX... ahhh. And the story/dialogue is pretty good too.)
