I pick it up at 5:30 today. Pictures to come.

I work near the parking lot where it parks everyday. I have seen it a lot. I mentioned on another message board (a local one) that I was looking at HS cars for the upcoming (2011) season. A friend of the owner was all like, "you should buy my friends car". Mind you it wasn't for sale.

But you all know how things work out, I am giving him cash and he is giving me the keys and the title.

Actually, here is a picture of it from this summer. Hot linked for hot linked goodness.

Nice I always liked those and the pearl white is the best color they came in. Good score

Fun cars, came with a 20v NA motor. You can easily turbocharge it using a kit from 034 Motorsport, or drop in a OEM 20v turbo motor from a '91 200, or later '92-'95 S4.

Not sure how it'll do as an auto-x car, they're very heavy, don't make a lot of torque and are rather slow stock...

Mileage, price, good bad? Very nice for a 20 year old car.

Noice! I've always liked those cars. Gotta echo docwyte about autoX (they handle pretty well, they're just so heavy). Good highway cars.

Pearl white touch up paint = no such thing from you Audi dealer. You can, however, use nail polish in the same color effectively.

Moved to the fastest run group so I can drive "flat out"

QFT!!! My G20 is pearl, and I even have some factory fresh (circa 1999) 2 stage touch up from Nissan/Infiniti. IT SI NO WHERE CLOSE!!! Now granted, my paint has had over a decade for the elements to torture her finish, and therefore the color may have changed some, but the stuff in the bottle is straight up white, and the clear has some yellow swirls in it, but nothing close to pearl. Nailpolish OTOH is a dead ringer

OK just got home (7:26 pm) with the second load of parts. It appears that the "few parts to go with the car" turned into an entire second car minus the shell.

I have the car, and an entire interior of another car. Two gauge clusters, A differential, a drive shaft, European headlamps, shift boot and center console.

I have a complete fuel injection system and all the air intake stuff...

I have brake calipers, a clutch, 4 Axles complete with cv joints and boots. and two crates of other stuff that I haven't gone through yet.

I will get pics of it all in the morning.

Oh, the RE-11s, there are actually practically brand new, they still have the mold release still on them.

    Pics in the morning.

    Subscribed.

All cars are now running. Time to go shopping for something that is broken.

    OK so some more information.

It is the 20 Valve engine (5 Cyl Dual over head cams). I also have a second 20Valve head in the parts. I also have the cams.

I am looking to see if it is possible to put the head and cams on a non 20V motor.

It is. You'll end up with a pretty low compression ratio, too. If you put it on a 10v turbo block, you'll have probably TOO low compression.

I had one of those a long time ago. Very much like a miata in that it is a momentum car but only someone spoiled by real hp will complain. I got rid of it as part of my no more high maintenance cars phase in the early 90's. However it was a fun car to drive. Enjoy!

I just bought a '91 Audi 90 coupe quattro (20V) for a buddy who is now using it as a winter car. Once we fixed all the little electrical/vacuum gremlins, it was a pretty neat car to drive. The engine sounded awesome and it drove nicely, but you DEFINITELY felt that weight. That dang thing was really pudgy for being a 2 door hatchback. Reports from the drive between OR and MI were that the car was definitely a great autobahn cruiser, pretty good fuel economy and comfy even with average speeds in the triple digits.

Alright, I was just the tirewarmer

Good to know it will be out attacking cones though. I was real impressed with it. Congratulations, Eric!
