As most of you know, we regularly send out a Grassroots Motorsports email newsletter with info on what's coming up in the next issue, new stuff on the site, contests, tech tips and all sorts of other stuff.

My question is, what would you all like to see in there? What would make it more useful and valuable to you?

And if you have no idea what I'm talking about, sign up for the newsletter here: http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/newsletter/

And this new sub-forum is off to a great start!!

    Should we ignore this?

How 'bout an approximate mailing date. I enjoy getting the newsletter, but I don't know if the issue will be coming out in a week or a month. I realize some may complain if they don't get theirs in a reasonable time frame.

How about a teaser for CM, in the GRM newsletter? Let us know what we're missing.

How about a limited-time discount to a particular vendor (along with a paid-for ad). Say, buy within X days, use code "GRMXX" when ordering, and receive X discount. Make it something we all need and use, and inexpensive (don't give us a 25% discount on Subaru camshafts).

How about each newsletter, feature one GRM employee, with a totally-non-GRM-related sidebar (or bio, or story). Let us get to know you guys (and girls) better).

I second all of Kramer's ideas.

    Newsletter, huh?

I suggest pulling copy from AutoX and doing a "REWIND sponsored by Konig" series. Completely reprinting the original articles in their entirety. Konig gets ad space and GRM gets revenue and we get to see pixxors of Tim and Per with mullets.

I used to work on a school newsletter. We did contests that were pretty fun. They were along the lines of taking a silly looking picture and having the newsletter readers respond with the funniest caption, or funniest use of a insert noun here. Entrants responded via email (would make it more of a newsletter thing rather than a forum thing). Entrants had to title the contest email with "newsletter contest: January _ _ ". Winners got something trivial...a keychain, University sticker pack...something small you could mail w/little cost. It was really fun. In order to keep the inbox from going all Mt St. Helens, emails were only accepted on a certain date, specified in the newsletter. It was really easy to delete all emails with that title not received on the specified date. It was really fun and made the newsletter something people looked forward to...along with all the good University news.

I also like the GRM discount ideas, we did similar stuff...usually what the bookstore had on sale, the local pizza place's monthly special with a coupon printed out of the newsletter, etc

Oh yeah, and nekkid chix works for me too

    MOAR DRIFTING!

Wait . . .that's what I want to see in the actual magazine . . .but I'd be complacent with the newsletter as well, LOL!

Seriously though; I know I sound like a broken record, but I'm not feeling the love. As one of GRM's dedicated drifters (probably the only one who drifts exclusively) I feel kinda left out sometimes , hahaha! Drifting is pretty grassroots (just don't look at my car when I say that) and it's a pretty friendly environment.

I dunno, maybe I should get back into autocross

Yes and yes, I've considered entering one before, just haven't done so. Hopefully DG Trials will post at least one up this year and I'll get a chance to get on that. I'll need to sharpen my E-brake before I do that though.
