    So, I was talking to the Agip oil guy at the Pittsburgh Vintage GP and he says what I want is their diesel oil! Whats that all about?

    Does anybody use diesel oil in the gas motor?

    Diesel oil was a good workaround until two or three years ago, when the amount of ZDDP was reduced in those, too. Diesel oil rated CI should have adequate levels, CJ probably does not.

    I use Valvoline All Fleet 15W-40, which is a "universal" oil rated SL for gasoline engines and CI for diesel. It has something like 1200 ppm ZDDP, which is just fine for flat tappet cams. Most parts stores carry it.
