    Wow... that red GT6 makes me want to cry... from that pic, it looks like a good restoration candidate...

    As far as a potential buyer, TSI Automotive comes to mind... but he's in Ohio and it would be a lot of work to move that much, that far.

    If anyone watches American Pickers on History Channel, one of the guys whose yards they "picked" was chock-a-block with Triumphs. In Alabama. And when they sold the Labretta scooter carcass, as they turned into the buyer's parking lot, there was Matthew's Foreign Car Parts across the street. Big ebay seller of British car parts. Soooo, prhaps that field of Triumps's isn't too far away from Birmingham, AL.

    Nope, sorry--no where near Birmingham. The guys from American Pickers have actually been to the Triumph farm. He didn't sell them anything because they were looking to "steal" items for very little $$$. He said they were nice guys though.

    I should have more info on his place after Memorial Day.

    No way anyone could buy that lot and make any $$$ out of the deal. Cost to transport, store (If they can get legal storage), inventory and market the stuff, makes it cheaper to just re-sell new parts from MOSS.

    None of the cars outside look salvageable. Used mechanical bits never bring much money. The $$ is in good tin since nothing fits as well as the real deal, and I don't see much of that in the pictures.

    I wish him luck and hope he does not end up paying to have the bulk removed from the land.

    an update:

    I spoke with the owner of the Triumph farm yesterday. He is willing to speak with prospective bidders, and has shipping options available. (semi trucks on site, roadworthy and available)

    If you are serious about making a bid for all, or a good portion of the cars/ parts, please send me a private message with your phone number. I will relay your # to him.

    It's kinda tough to make a "serious bid" on a package of cars/parts when you don't know what it is that you're bidding on. An estimate of 30-40 cars is pretty fuzzy, don't ya think? What type of parts are we talkin' here? A warehouse full of OEM fuses is obviously worth less than one full of TR3 fenders and doors. Here's a revolutionary idea... How 'bout an accurate inventory of what is included. This is in no way a swipe at you, Joe. You are to be commended for sharing this find. However, if Farmer Triumph is serious about selling his treasure, the "I got it, you want it" tack ain't gonna cut it. Just my opinion... Cheers, Scott

    I'd just like to see this cache of Triumph parts go to a good home.

    The owner is being reasonable, he just didn't want 1,000 people contacting him for a TR-6 light switch. He needs buyers willing to buy in bulk.

    As far as his inventory goes, if you are a serious buyer PM me and I can get you in touch with him. He'd be more than happy to let you know what he has.

    I agree as well. As much as I'd dream about having a parts yard like this, the only way to make money off of it is if this is already your business...

    So with that in mind, I sent a link to this thread to TSI, since this is what he does.

    If you become a MOSS re-seller you buy a part from MOSS wholesale, set a mark-up and advertise to sell it. No dickering. Many cases the money is is the bank and part dropped shiped so you never touch it. No idea what the investment is to get signed on.

    If you advertise a used part for sale, you will have to deal with 20 flakes who will call you up, ask a milion questions, and maybe buy, maybe not. Your time/sale and hence profit will not be very good. A LOT of fun if this is what you ejnoy, but not really profitable.

    People might pay 200 for a good used fender. (LOT more for new). So after the dicker, you go out to the hulk and unbolt it. Oh wait, no, you spend at least a couple of hours cursing at the designer who made it impossible to remove a fender without pulling the engine or some such. Legitimate business time is worth AT LEAST $60/hour, so you just blew $120 of your $200 dollar sale on getting the thing off the car. AND you still have to box it up and post the thing.

    Letting people on your property to pick parts is a whole new can of worms.

    Hope he sold it all to someone who will add it to his own horde and let us marvel when it comes up for disposal
