I've painted my Europa white with a green racing stripe. I'm thinking about adding a couple of yellow stripes inside the green stripe. I've mocked it up with yellow electrical phasing tape just to see how it would look. What do you guys think?

My brother has just finished restoring his 72 Europa this fall complete with the Weber head. He's repainted it solid BRG but when he first received the car, it was an after market off green with a solid yellow racing stripe. It didn't do the car justice. But yours looks much, much nicer. In fact, I really like it and will post a photo of it to my brother. He hasn't driven his TR6 once since he put the Lotus on the road.
As for adding the other yellow stripes, I dunno. It looks very nice as is.

Oh if I ever have the money to do the FIAT I want something in red white green.
Looks sweet. Nice work.

Replace those mocked up tape stripes with paint! And repeat on air cleaner. But leave the rest of the engine compartment stock looking--or add lots of braided line to complement the stripes.
Europa's are very color sensitive, I think you hit a very pleasing balance of reserve with just a bit of flash, which embodies the car's heritage.

I vote for the subtle yellow stripes. Very Team Lotus, and it looks like this is a race car, right? It's a small touch, but I think it dresses the car up nicely. If it were mine, I'd do it.

I also vote for the small yellow stripes. It just looks a lot more "finished".

I like the yellow stripes. I think slightly narrower yellow stripes would look better.

The yellow stripes look great. As others have said, just the right amount of detail with a nod to the Lotus heritage.
I will be painting my Europa in the next couple of years, and have begun thinking about stripes that will compliment the car without being over the top, so was interested in checking out your post.
Sometimes, the faster it gets, the less you need to know. But you got to remember, the smarter it gets, the further its going to go.

Wow, I really like the look you've given it just as shown.
Sigh, I wish I was as good as you and others when it comes to striping and such. Mine always come out looking like red-neck hash and such. Wrong sizes, poor location, etc. That artistic touch is missing when it comes to my judgement of such things.

sometimes if you offset a single set of stripes like a 4 inch and a 1 inch in front of the driver or passenger seat it looks cool

I like the yellow stripes on the green. I say go for it.

I like the yellow, shows thought and not just a stripe because you should have one.
