Psst - it is 'Jamaican', not 'Jamacian'
I say this for the good of future members doing a search - hard to find if it isn't spelled correctly.
What's with the non-stock hump in the roof? No need to do that for headroom, you just need to recline the seats enough. Did a former owner do that?
What is the state of tune of the 6 cylinder engine - sounds nice?

thanks, will edit spelling! car is TR4A triumph based but now running 6 cylinder engine from pi saloon, on 2 in su carbs, with extractors ,cam ,alloy flywheel. est bhp about 160. bulge in roof was necessary for crash helmet clearance, despite mx5 seats as floor has x member under seat for irs cheers

Ah - makes sense. I was never a fan of the IRS as it didn't work well with stock springs, but it can be tamed with after market parts (the beam axle didn't work all that well because the idiots ran the frame under, instead of over the axle). I feel I can call them idiots when I see it that way as I've owned a lot of TRs!
Too bad about the hump. I laid the seat way back (using Miata as well) and dropped the bottom of the seat a bit through the floor (easier on the MGA with plywood floorboards). People really don't realize just how low these cars are!
Don't have a handy pic of the interior finished so this is one taken during the build. That really is the rake angle necessary to comfortably drive the car.
PS - I run a 3.4 V6 with c. 200 BHP - adequate

forgot to mention im 6ft tall ! could drive my car ok without a crash helmet , but really built it for vintage motorsport events, which required clearance between helmet and roof! hence the Dan Gurney Bulge.

those seats dont look at all comfortable laid back like that, my car is very much a driver, driven to events, competing and driven home, sometimes can be in it all day! no probs with bulge!

Actually, they are very comfortable Better than most cars. You just have to get used to a laid back driving position, which doesn't take that long to do.
I have never put my helmet on in that car so don't know of that rake angle would accomodate it or not.

It looks a lot like a S1 or S2 Lotus Esprit driving position.

Good comparison. It only looks unusual until you sit in there, after which it becomes very comfortable. Excellent lower back support.
