  Yes, but I never push it that close. I like to have at least a half tank for a 30 min session. I ran the car in a four-hour enduro a few years ago and the 8 gallon cell was truly empty when I pitted after about 75 minutes

  well! my 1950 Cadillac sedan got 18-20 on reg.fuel,two people, but it could carry 6 people ,comfortably, at 70mph all day long.

  My Volvo 122S (wagon) was getting about 20 city/25 highway with the B18 that was all stock except for the Weber progressive two-barrel. My best tank on the highway with the carb was 27 mpg. I recently megasquirted it with a GM single barrel TBI and it's now getting much better mileage, about 22/30. My new best tank with the injection is 35 mpg. Pretty dang good for a 40+ year old station wagon! I think the tune is getting dialed in well enough that I will probably put a catalytic converter on it, too...I'm running at stoich all the time and a cat is only $50, might as well save the world while cruising in my classic.

  I used to have a '59 Morris Minor 1000. I regularly got 38 mpg, but the best I ever got with it was 56 mpg. That was drafting semi trucks on the freeway at 70 mph! Heck, without a semi right in front of me, the best I could do was 60 mph!

  I guess I'd have to fix the speedometers in the Triumphs to get an accurate reading of the mileage, right now I'd say I'm getting between 3 and 5 days driving per tank.

  My 77 Mercedes 450SLC, 4.5L V8 gets around 12-15 MPG. It's a small engine but a very heavy car. It's the only V8 I have in the fleet so I tend to have a lead foot in it.
