I admit, the Porsche has sat for the last two weeks. I have been sick as a dog and haven't gone anywhere other than work and the drug store.

Well, last night I needed to pick up my new prescription. It's maybe 2 miles there and back.

I took the long way back--turned a 2-mile trip into a 20-mile trip. Sometimes those late-night drives to help. Plus, I have to admit, a Porsche 911 sounds good on a cool evening.

Still hasn't shaken my cough, though.

Every time I glanced at this thread, the Talking Head's 'Road to Nowhere' started playing in my mind.

Drives without a destination are always fun, though. A couple of weeks back I clocked up about 300kms driving around all day with a lady friend, getting lost, then un-lost, stopping at various points along the way.

Aimless road trips are my favorite kind, the longer the better.

I used to head off on a trip with a handful of cash (for gas and road food) without a care in the world, but as a grown-up with kids those trips are awfully scarce. I hope retirement brings that joy back.

I tried drag racing, but kept blowing the apex for turn 2... Xbox Live gamertag— GRM Tom
