  Oh that's a touchy one.

  I've own errr 4 cars in my life. Of which 3 are currently in my fleet.

  I owned a Green POS Cavalier. Liked the colour. My GT6 was White, but had it painted back to its original Blue. Very happy with that. Bought my Mazda because its Yellow. And the FIAT is my first Red car.

  For a race car. I just find White to be way to go. Easy to spot issues and looks so sharp when its all clean.

  For a sport car oh Yellow. Just love that colour, but the lines/age of the car has to be right.

  I really wanted to paint the GT6 yellow, but after seeing one it just did not work.

  My wife was offering to pay for the paint job if I went with her colour... I declined, but did give it thought.

  My 240Z project is going to require a repaint inside and out, so I'm going through the color choice issue too, although pink is not one of them! However, do I go back with the metallic gray, or on to another color? Right now I'm leaning towards that ever so nice Porsche green from the early '70's, but that may change ten or twelve more times before the week is up.

  When I got my XJ-12C it was painted "green sand", It looked like something you'd find in a baby's diaper.

  I did a disassemble and repaint on it and changed the color to "regency red", which is actually maroon.
  

  I clear coated it, even though it wasn't a base coat/clear coat paint. The clear coat makes it different colors under different light. In sunlight, it's bright red, under streetlights it looks almost black, it's a really cool effect, that I wasn't expecting.

  For me it was easy: ~Speedwell Blue~. That's the traditional colour of racing A35s.

  My race Spridget is BRG, which is a pain in the neck to keep looking decent because it's a darker colour. Most race cars get their share of dings and bumps. Plus they tend to sit around in a garage a lot, getting "hanger rash" (from kids bicycles plus having boxes piled on them, etc).

  I'd choose a lighter colour just for the practical reason that it tends to hide any "warts" on the body and is easier to touch up.

  Now if you're doing a show-car, then a nice black or dark green is great......but it tends to be so high-maintenance otherwise......

  My midget is dark BRG, and I really like it. My Bugeye is currently satin black, but soon I will I'll have to decide on a real colour. For some reason I'm drawn to dark colors, so I'm leaning towards I dark midnight blue (no metallic).

  There are no rules when it comes to colo(u)rs. A local Miata draped in the Union Jack is just fine.
  A previous owner liked red and so my Fiat was changed from the original sky blue shade and won't get changed again. Pink is outstanding or maybe just stands out, all the the good in my book. For racing, a light shade shows the numbers and logos well.

  We always like burgundy. Then we got a Burgundy Pickup. Then a Burgundy Volvo. Then a Burgundy BMW. Then the Volvo and the truck left, but both BMW's are still there. We're tired of burgundy. I want something blue. Actually, I want the 10ae miata blue.

  there’s a lot of debate on this subject—about what kind of car handles best. Some say a front-engined car; some say a rear-engined car. I say a rented car.
