  If welding burns count I have to many to list! (Note to self: stop welding while wearing short sleeves.) Between car repair, car restorations/modifications, machinery repairs, and bicycle repairs I have more than a few scars.

  Looking down at my hands I can spot three distinct scars with the small ones hidden with age and dry skin.

  Kinda funny tho' I just had a colonoscopy where they put me out with an IV. I can drop things on my toes, bash my hands, hit my head, cut myself, burn myself, pinch myself... but I cannot stand having an IV needle put in my arm!

  I have a few battle scars and some lucky misses.

  I have a patch on my work suit very close to the family jewels. Grinder got away.

  The engine on the lift was not fun. Let the pressure off too fast and got pinned.

  The bonnet closed on me one time. THUD. Back was sore for a while.

  The single luckiest miss I've had to date was the sand blaster tank. I let the top off without bleeding the pressure. If that thing had hit me on the head. Game over!

  Do you have a scars from your car? Yes!!! Also since I was a helicopter mech (crewchief/flight engineer/tech inspector) for 20 years in the army, I have plenty of scars from that also. One gave me blood poisoning in my arm and had to have it scrubbed with a brush after cut open again, tetnus shot and arm in a sling for a day. Cut my palm on a oily, dirty jagged piece of metal on the helicopter getting it ready for flight, wiped it off with a rag, put on my flight gloves and flew all day. A day or two later there was a blue line up my lower arm and was tender to the touch. The medic freaked and sent me to the doc in a hurry. There are scars on every finger and a couple on the palm and wrist. Scar on my shin from a helicopter cowling latch. One on my elbow from a motorcycle accident. The ones on my head aren't from wrenching though. A small scar between my eyes from a rifle scope, one on my chin from going over the handlebars of a bike when I was about 12 plus a couple others. I orignally got glasses from an eye injury, pits and scratches on the cornea when a hydraulic specialist was showing me how to use a bleed pot to service the landing gear on my helicopter early in my career. After he blew up the canister in our face I found out he showed me the improper way and why you don't do it that way. He ended up with a plastic cheekbone and upper pallette in his mouth from when the gage from the bleed pot hit him in the face. I ended up with glasses and no longer eligible for flight school (couldn't pass the eye exam after that) which I had just been approved for pending an updated flight physical for a class date. I studied hydraulics after that incident and have a deep respect for pressure and what it will/can do. Oh and nowadays I wear bifocals since I'm old.

  Sounds like wlkelley3 was a Hooker! I was a Huey Crew Chief till I went to flight school.

  I have 2 scars across my knuckles from where the windscreen and the steering wheel pinned them when I parked my first MGB on the shiny side...er rusty side.

  Yep, a Hooker all the way. Still supporting the new 'hooks. Although my 1st assignment was in Hueys, spent a year crewing a Huey.

  Oh ya, about 10 years I replaced the exhaust system on my '65 Healey and added chrome rear tail pipes. I custom made them myself and left them a little too sharp. I receive a good clean cut just below the calf shortly after installation while detailing the car before a show. My son, 10 at the time got cut in the same spot on the same leg while setting up at the car show. We both have matching scares now due to a "Healey bite". Yes I did file them smooth when we returned home.

  Oh forgot about this one... I have a tail pump burn on my leg.

  I was leaning into the rear hatch and got sizzled.

  My '69 Cooper gave me a pretty good shiner once. I was trying to get the sliding windows open, so I was standing outside the car with the door open, putting all my weight against the latch to get it to slide. When it finally did, I pelted my face against the door-frame. Smooth move. I've since replaced all the window channels for the sliders.

  I have my share of marks from cuts while wrenching but nothing serious. I do have a repaired leg from my motorcycling days. It is a bit shorter and bent but operates well enough - a bit like my car.

  Hey car owners out there! Been in this forum to share some of my experiences with my car! Hope you accept this post despite of its lateness in time...hehe. Mine was a silverado 05 and it was pretty good since the first day i snatch it from bell's hand. My driving was fine too until then an accident came into my life...Boog! been hit by a Civic and my car did not only get scratches and scars but a huge damage...Got a car repair service and the price was too high....was so desperate because this is my only car and luckily the mechanic has already fixed it..the second time was when the brakes got locked and my daughter was almost dyin. luckily he survived after being in the hospital for months....

  Back toTad's comment regarding IVs .... I agree 100%...I'm fine as long as you don't show me the needle... I've passed out in the dentist chair just seeing the horse needle they were going stick in my mouth.
