Latest addition to the family:
I picked it up on Wednesday and then went up to see Carl Heideman in Michigan. I'm now in Atlanta visiting my brother and will be back in Florida tomorrow. I love it.

Good luck and have fun. It's amazing how overbuilt those cars are.

Exactly.
In reply to David S. Wallens:
Very nice! That's a '78-'84 SC, isn't it? I've always wanted one, but was scared off by the cost of parts. I hope you record your ownership experience so maybe I will change my mind!
It's actually the first year of the Carrera. The SC ended in 1983.
The cars are similar, with the biggest difference probably being the engine: 3.0-liter with Bosch CIS (SC) vs. 3.2-liter with Bosch DME (Carrera). The next big change came for 1987 with the addition of the G50 transmission.
So far, so good.
Sweet ride David... Congrats.
I think I feel a twinge of Porsche envy coming on.
Cheers, Scott
Thanks. The car has been totally delightful so far. I still need to do a real photo shoot. Maybe this weekend.
