I haven't read the article, but the problem with them is they are so rare and you have to buy a lot of parts through Ferrari sources they are just too expensive to fix for the 'commoner' like me. Along with that, I've never had to deal with a more arrogant, elitist group of people than those who market exotic car parts.
They are beautiful cars, but the few times I drove mine (illegally) I came away sadly underwhelmed. I mean, it is just a 2 litre V6 with 1960s technology. It's not going to feel fast by today's standards. Buy a finished one if you really want one. Doing a restoration on one is a money draining foray into disappointment, which is why I wound up trading mine for something else. Yes, traded. Couldn't find a buyer...nobody knows what they are, and those that do can't afford it. Lesson learned: common cars are much more fun than exotics, at least for me.
