A friend of mine just bought a '59 Morris Minor 1000, and the guy he bought it from said that once it warms up it runs really rough. He hasn't taken possession of the car yet, but from what I can tell from the pics it's got a Weber DCOE and an electric fuel pump. We're thinking it might just have too much carburetor for the engine. Anyone know a good jet setting for that engine, or a better choice of carburetor? What's the hot ticket on these?

Normally A-Series that haven't been modded that much come with a single or twin SUs. I would think that unless it's got a severely modded engine, a DCOE might be too much carb but then again that depends on the size of the DCOE and its choke sizes.
I would try to figure out if the running rough is because of the carb before I do anything drastic. With DCOEs setup is critical so it might just be setup wrong.
Sanity is vastly overrated.

SU is the answer.

I agree with both comments. Many mechanics often replaced the SU with a Weber and I never liked the idea or the look on a LBC. Also the poor running might be something else like a weak fuel pump or electrics. Look at the plugs for clues. The carb should affect all the same way. The choke may also be sticking.
